Video: Kuwait Towers Lit Up Our Sky

This post may come as old news to my Kuwait and GCC readers. However, I felt it would be nice to share it with the rest of my readers who come from over 130 countries around the world. The past couple of days, Kuwait was celebrating its 50th National Day and 20th Liberation day. And as part of the celebration, a mega fireworks, lights, and laser show took place at Kuwait Towers, one of Kuwait's main tourist attractions and something that I have been always proud of (hence my header) and always wished that it was managed and utilized differently, like open up a Gordon Ramsay restaurant with a 360 degrees view of the city.  Anyhow, the show was so spectacular, I don't think I'll ever forget how the towers lit up the sky that night.

I have found this nice video clip on YouTube by cajieb which is basically a compilation of 603 unedited pictures that cajieb took within a duration of around 40 minutes during the fireworks display at Kuwait Towers.

It is worth mentioning that the towers were designed by a Swedish company and executed by a Yugoslav company. They were built in 1975 and inaugurated in 1979.  The plates that cover the balls are fifty five thousand in number. They are made of Chinese steel painted in eight different colors.

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.

Chanel Bags on Discount?!

If you thought that getting a cheap Chanel bag that's within your budget is something too far fetched, then think again. You'll be surprised to know that Chanel's boutique located at Salhiya Complex is currently selling several bags, that are a maximum 1 or 2 seasons old, on discount . And we're not talking about a 2 or 5% discount here, these bags are 50% off their original price! For some reason I always thought that Chanel bags never go on sale. But I guess the printed ones or the ones that are made out of the collection's main fabric have to go on sale. Anyways, I managed to take photos of these 2 beauties. What I love about those bags is that they're a classic shape that never goes out of style, their print is young and refreshing, plus they're quilted. I think they could be a collector's item. Both bags featured here are sold for approximately KD 250 .

Magical Mode

As anyone who regularly reads Confashions may know, there are some designers I’ve been obsessed with for quite some time: one is the genius Erdem , the other is Nicholas Kirkwood , and Pierre Hardy . And because their designs are somehow easily accessible online and offline, I had the pleasure of featuring some of their creations and showing them the love they deserve. That said, there is one designer I’ve been particularly smitten with for quite some time. He has always been on the top of my favorite designers list ever since I was introduced to his designs by my fabulous fellow fashionisto Adnan Z Manjal   a couple of years back : Saudi designer Mohammed Ashi . I always wished I featured him more. I couldn’t because his pieces are very exclusive and as far as I know not stocked anywhere here. This clearly isn't just another post on my obvious love for Mohammed Ashi’s designs or the quality of his clothes as I have done that previously. Ashi simply deserves his very own epic p...
