Introducing Ms. Shields

I got introduced to a new shoes brand called Eileen Shields by its rep. Shields' shoes have been described by British Vogue as "delectable … that rarest of things: high concept, yet completely unpretentious." Eileen Shields footwear is ideal for chic day wear and for intelligent and stylish working women who love modern desings. Shields worked for Donna Karan International in New York for over a decade. Since 2007, Shields has collaborated with Maria Cornejo, producing the footwear collection for Zero+Maria Cornejo. Shields has also had her shoes featured in the 'Sex and the City' movie. I picked out 3 of my favourite designs from her collection. They look sooo comfy and pretty at the same time.

Oh, CONFASHIONS, I just published the first "Bahrain Street Style" post- tell me what you think!! It was very, very, very difficult to find someone willing to be featured in a style bog! But I did it!

And you are my inspiration, Confashions, you created the best blog ever ;)

Confashions, Eileen Shields is reading the blog in New York and in her words thinks it's "cool"!

We just got confirmation that in addition to the Saudi buyers, buyers from Kuwait will also see the collection in New York, as soon as we get confirmation on Kuwait stockists I will let you all know.

On behalf of Eileen Shields, thanks for the feedback.

Magical Mode

As anyone who regularly reads Confashions may know, there are some designers I’ve been obsessed with for quite some time: one is the genius Erdem , the other is Nicholas Kirkwood , and Pierre Hardy . And because their designs are somehow easily accessible online and offline, I had the pleasure of featuring some of their creations and showing them the love they deserve. That said, there is one designer I’ve been particularly smitten with for quite some time. He has always been on the top of my favorite designers list ever since I was introduced to his designs by my fabulous fellow fashionisto Adnan Z Manjal   a couple of years back : Saudi designer Mohammed Ashi . I always wished I featured him more. I couldn’t because his pieces are very exclusive and as far as I know not stocked anywhere here. This clearly isn't just another post on my obvious love for Mohammed Ashi’s designs or the quality of his clothes as I have done that previously. Ashi simply deserves his very own epic p...

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?
