Event: Delfina Delettrez's Jewelry Collection

Delfina Delettrez has inherited the creative passion for fashion and accessories from her parents Silvia Fendi and Bernard Delettrez, the venerable French jeweler. A fourth generation Fendi, Delfina, is based in Rome. She is exhibiting her limited edition jewelry collection for the first time in the Middle East at Al Sabah Art & Design Gallery from May 23 for private viewing.

Delfina’s first collection of jewels was presented to the international press in October 2007 at Colette, Paris. The collection consisted of jewelry shaped like skulls, poisonous insects, frogs and wild animals. Two items from the collection, a ring and a bracelet, were purchased by the Museum of Decorative Arts of the Louvre and now form part of the permanent collection in the Jewellery section. The press has since then been raving about her unstoppable success and devout cult following.

Her new collection is inspired by dreamlike visions, ancient beliefs, superstitions, popular traditions, ex-votos, gardens and animals in paradisiacal colours and surreal effects. The collection uses gold, silver, enamel, precious stones, fur, bone and tusks.

Al Sabah Art & Design Gallery is located outside Al Corniche Club to the left of Athletes Foot, Arabian Gulf Road.

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.

Chanel Bags on Discount?!

If you thought that getting a cheap Chanel bag that's within your budget is something too far fetched, then think again. You'll be surprised to know that Chanel's boutique located at Salhiya Complex is currently selling several bags, that are a maximum 1 or 2 seasons old, on discount . And we're not talking about a 2 or 5% discount here, these bags are 50% off their original price! For some reason I always thought that Chanel bags never go on sale. But I guess the printed ones or the ones that are made out of the collection's main fabric have to go on sale. Anyways, I managed to take photos of these 2 beauties. What I love about those bags is that they're a classic shape that never goes out of style, their print is young and refreshing, plus they're quilted. I think they could be a collector's item. Both bags featured here are sold for approximately KD 250 .
