Delfina Delettrez has inherited the creative passion for fashion and accessories from her parents Silvia Fendi and Bernard Delettrez, the venerable French jeweler. A fourth generation Fendi, Delfina, is based in Rome. She is exhibiting her limited edition jewelry collection for the first time in the Middle East at Al Sabah Art & Design Gallery from May 23 for private viewing.Delfina’s first collection of jewels was presented to the international press in October 2007 at Colette, Paris. The collection consisted of jewelry shaped like skulls, poisonous insects, frogs and wild animals. Two items from the collection, a ring and a bracelet, were purchased by the Museum of Decorative Arts of the Louvre and now form part of the permanent collection in the Jewellery section. The press has since then been raving about her unstoppable success and devout cult following.
Her new collection is inspired by dreamlike visions, ancient beliefs, superstitions, popular traditions, ex-votos, gardens and animals in paradisiacal colours and surreal effects. The collection uses gold, silver, enamel, precious stones, fur, bone and tusks.Al Sabah Art & Design Gallery is located outside Al Corniche Club to the left of Athletes Foot, Arabian Gulf Road.
