I Wish I Bought This Dress

During one of my shopping sprees sometime ago, I found this adorable short evening Vera Wang dress from her Lavender line at Al Othman. I immediately picked the dress and tried it on, even though I had no occasion for it and I wasn’t planning on buying it. But it was pretty! it was one of the cutest things I saw this season. So I had to at least try it on!

It was Very easy and comfortable to wear with a very flattering shape. It was A-line shaped dress with thick straps and a bubble-ish hem. The neckline was embroidered with thick golden threads. It was forest green from the top and the hem was black satin. The perfect ensemble for a small and cozy party. It was priced at KD 220. I know! I was taken by surprise by the price tag too. This is very affordable for an semi-evening dress by Vera Wang! But, I didn’t need it at that time and therefore, I didn’t buy it.

Guess what? BIG MISTAKE!! Now I have an occasion for it, and when I went to Al Othman last week to buy it, the dress was gone with the wind! The moral of this story: If you see something you like. BUY IT NOW or regret it later (did I just quote TopShop?!)

Al Othman Store is located at Mariam Complex, Salem AlMubarak St, Salmiya. For inquires, please call (+965) 575-4954.

If you are a fan of Vera Wang Lavender, you should check out netaporter.com. Maybe they'll have it.

And as for coverage of your blog in the press, check out this piece:

You said : "If you see something you like BUY IT NOW or regret it later ."

I say : Do not wait for an occasion let the dress make it an occasion. So many times since I have moved here, have I seen chaps wear Zegna and Ferragamo suits routinely to chemistry and woodwork class that I began to wonder if haute couture is the new dress code for laboratory and vocational work in Kuwait.

Help is now at hand to tackle similar such fashion emergencies that may arise from time to time in Kuwait. We now have in this country our very own dressmaker who can, at a moment's notice, stitch for us the choicest Vera Wang, Sabyasachi Mukherjee and Kenzo look alike dresses, and at a third of the price too. All you need to do is reach for that phone and dial * all dressed up and nowhere to go, leaving behind your designer specification at the prompt and rest assured, they will have it delivered at your doorstep in 48 hrs or less. Phase two of the dressmaker's pet project will see them master copy cat versions of Chanel, Hermes, Ungaro, Isaac Mizrahi and many many others. For a tester of their whored designs you may want to check out their new concession at the flea market on Friday. It is rumoured this has come to pass at the behest of the Q8 Medical Association following a steep weekend rise in hospital admissions of pretty young things complaining of acute onset breathlessness and chest pain on discovering their favourite designer evening wear's sold out. No wonder there's a certain industry buzz they may actually be considering fast tracking the opening of a stand alone Vera Wang boutique in Kuwait City, putting less important issues such as, Project Kuwait and the privatization of Kuwait Airways on the back burner for now.

Fashion blogs are not enforced on people who are not interested in fashion. It's not a homework that you have to read every day.

Try shopping online if you have spare time, that's what I did last night and I can safely say that I've found what I'm looking for ;)

There are a lot of good tailors in Kuwait but I'm not sure how good they are in copying as it's not my thing :)

Hey pimp, I do detect a lot of sarcasm in your post.
I would suggest you don't waste your time on such silly blogs talking about fashion and use your writing skills to discuss more important issues on related blogs.
Let us silly people have fun with the fashion blogs

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.
