The Knowledge of Luxury

Do you know what is Luxury Brand Status Index (LBSI)?
"The Luxury Brand Status Index (LBSI) is the only independent and impartial measure available of the value and equity of leading luxury brands to wealthy Americans, based on statistically meaningful data collected from wealthy consumers themselves. The annual Luxury Brand Status Index survey is a proprietary survey methodology and index developed by The Luxury Institute that guides our company-based subscribers. The LBSI incorporates four main "pillars" of value: consistently superior quality, exclusivity and uniqueness, a measure of enhanced social status, and a measure of the ability of a brand to make a customer "feel special" across the customer experience with the brand." Click here to learn more about the Knowledge of Luxury. Some fun facts that I came across include:
  • Rich women want a Judith Leiber (not a Birkin) on their arm as the IT bag.
  • Uber-wealthy say socially responsible brands catch their attention.
  • High net-worth consumers name Lexus the Most Philanthropic Brand
  • High net-worth consumers rank Tod's, Longchamp and Zero Halliburton the Most Prestigious Luggage Brands
Thanks to my fabulous reader lala for enlightening me and inspiring me to write this post, I wouldn't have known about it if it wasn't for her smart comment on one of my previous posts. I feel like my Fashion IQ level has jumped a few notches with this marvelous information. Thank you lala!

great u posted bulletpoints of this survey (i remember it from wgsn) the most important one being the judith leiber observation. this is for the very very wealthy american but i tend to agree and think that many wealthy kuwaitis should follow. the days are over when you had your name and wealth all written over your bag. im bored of the lady with 20 birkin bags in every colour combo and of possible croc all the way. judith is so outrageously mad, its actually understated. why? many not appreciating her evening bags will agree that a crystal bag made in the shape of a heart or a fish is nothing special... its only a crystal bag... and not worth shelling out thousands of dollars for it (specially if it is more expensive than a birkin).. well i recommend those ladies to have a closer look. they are absolutely to die for :)
and now shove those birkins away or smash them about to at least look not too contrived.. get a leiber for night a python kroell for day, behave like a lady e basta come se dice in italia

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.
