Get Your Coco Fix

If you’re looking for something that gives you a refreshing change from the international chain stores found in our bigger than ever expanding malls, then I found the right place for you.

Tucked away in a small corner inside Salhiya Complex’s mezzanine floor is a little store where sleek modern meets shabby chic. The store is called Coco Ribbons.

Coco Ribbons is not for the faint-hearted. It’s for people who like bold colors and vivid prints, and all other cool stuff that require a sense of humor and a taste for a vibrant lifestyle. It offers a formidable blend of European labels, including Day Birger et mikklesen , ARROGANT CAT (exclusively sold at Coco Ribbons) , BRECHER EMDEN BAGS , MAME, NOLITA.. and much more.

Another exclusive brand to Coco Ribbons is NOLITA POCKET & RARE KIDS which caters for boys and girls between the ages of 2-14 who want to get noticed in funky fashion.

Coco Ribbons is one of those places where you won’t feel ripped off. The items are sold using the same price scheme used in the UK or US. So whether you buy it from London or Kuwait, it will all be the same price. No high margins here.

“I see myself as a customer of coco ribbons, not a boutique owner. So I’m always taking into consideration the variety and quality of the collection, and the pricing of each item.” Stated Coco Ribbons owner.

So any future expansion plans on the horizon? “We are now planning to open another branch of Coco Ribbons locally which would carry newer brands and unique items. Also, we’re considering expanding throughout the gulf region. Our first choice is Dubai” Added Coco Ribbons owner.
Coco Ribbons have just received their new fall collection and here's a taste of what you'll find in store...

Coco Ribbons’s opening hours are from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. And from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Saturdays to Thursdays.

I'll leave this question to be answered by the owner :)

I went there last week and fell in love with a grey dotted tulip shaped jacket. It was my fave item in the store :) unfortunately, I didn't have the opportunity to take it's picture...

Really?! Thank you! :*

Thanks for putting this store up confashions.
Personally it churns my stomach slightly. I used to pass it very often and the name alone was already quite misleading.
It is obviously not CoCo Ribbon from London but i got intrigued and walked in, well i hope they will brush up their brands :)

They've stolen the name and the logo of 'Coco Ribbon' in London. I heard the real Coco Ribbon is suing them because they will be expanding to the Middle East and cannot do so while there is another one of the same name. Have seen the store and I really like the items/prices, so not sure why they didnt come up with an original concept.

to last anynomous,

i totally agree. i find it very poor to rip off the name and even try with the font of the logo. the store is in my opnion like many little shops in kuwait. a try hard of mish mash of any "sorta hip brand" or NOT they come across during fashion weeks.
somehow arrogant cat next to a kids corner doesnt sound right.. as far as i know arrogant cat is slightly cheap ish in terms of style and shouldnt be found next to such an important children section...
i do hope for them they change the name soon!

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?

To New Beginnings...

"What did this Corona crisis teach you?" my friend asked. My first thought was thing crisis has opened my eyes on the simple pleasures of life. My priorities have changed. And I feel every day is a new beginning. First of all, it made me realize how much I miss blogging. How simple and mentally satisfying it was to jolt down my thoughts on a field that I was very passionate about. I have to admit that I'm not as passionate now. Don't get me wrong, I still like fashion, but it's now on the bottom of my priorities list. I would like to blog about other things too that I feel much related to. I recently discovered that I do enjoy cooking. For the longest time, cooking to me was a nightmare.  This corona crisis has taught us that we can look forward to a new day with new possibilities to contribute or to help another, or to simply approach things differently, and most importantly to make the most of each day we have and share that goodness with others.
