Oh how I missed you Beirut! It's been almost 5 years since I've last visited this magical city! I felt like hugging it the moment the airplane landed at the airport. It's one of my favorite cities in the Middle East. In my head, I curated a list of facts that prove Beirut's superiority, spanning everything from the famous Maneesh Um Ali of Souk el Tayeb, to the expansive arts, lifestyle, and culture scene, to its old colonial architecture, and to its ability to preserve the Lebanese craft and artisanal products in a modern and innovative manner. In the next few posts I will share with you highlights of my trip and some really cool finds, but first, let me give you a quick recap of the experience over all.
We stayed at Le Grey, it is located in the city center, a walking distance from exciting places like; Aswaq Beirut, Zaitunay Bay, Saifi Village, and Gemayzeh, It's also close to a lot of new fine restaurants and even night life. Everything is just few minutes walking away. The rooms were very spacious and clean, and the service was amazing, our concierge found us reservations at some of the best restaurants in town. To our luck, there was The Green Festival going on on the same weekend in downtown Beirut. It's an eco-friendly outdoor bazaar/marketplace with all sorts of educational and fun activities for families. I discovered a lot of Lebanese instgarm-based businesses, like the the one with the "Bridal" beach hat which I unfortunately misplaced her business card, so please if you're reading this post, send me your details! :)
