Event: BLAQ Concept Store Launches its Special Ramadan Selection for BLAQ Night

What a night to kick start Qurqaian (Kuwait's equivalent of Halloween minus the costumes) in a chic manner! Last night was a welcoming wardrobe overhaul for every fashion-loving lady thanks to the launch of BLAQ Concept store's BLAQ Night. Guests were able to shop exclusive and limited edition selection by emerging and hot designers in the field of fashion and jewelry including Palmer Harding's shirts-turned maxi tops and perfect-for-ramadan caftans, Aamaya by Priyanka stunning jewelry, and the lovely Bahrain based brand Asia Jewellers.

It is worth mentioning that one of Palmer Harding's pieces, the sleeveless high-low top as shown on the charming co-owner of BLAQ Sarah Al Musallam in the photo below, was actually suggested by Sarah herself, knowing that the market needs flowy, easy breezy pieces to withstand our 10-months long summer and can be used as a refreshing alternative to the Ramadan caftan.

The designer behind Aamaya by Priyanka also made a personal appearance.  I first met the designer in Bahrain over dinner through Dana of theoverdressed.com during Jewelry Arabia exhibition, and I instantly fell in love with her charming character and her sweet mother. Priyanka presented a selection of gorgeous everyday jewelry and accessories to compliment caftans and day-to-day looks. her head-pieces were a big hit too among guests, the headpieces were decorated with precious stones, colorful beads, and beautiful pearls.

I also had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Mayyan of Asia Jewellers from Bahrain. She had a huge selection of bracelets to add to your arm-party and statement necklaces by LA-based brand Nialaya

Beautiful night, beautiful people, and beautiful pieces. If you haven't had the chance to pass by the event, make sure you pass by on Saturday to view some of the remaining items on display. For now, you can scroll down to get a quick re-cap of the amazing BLAQ Night.

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?

To New Beginnings...

"What did this Corona crisis teach you?" my friend asked. My first thought was thing crisis has opened my eyes on the simple pleasures of life. My priorities have changed. And I feel every day is a new beginning. First of all, it made me realize how much I miss blogging. How simple and mentally satisfying it was to jolt down my thoughts on a field that I was very passionate about. I have to admit that I'm not as passionate now. Don't get me wrong, I still like fashion, but it's now on the bottom of my priorities list. I would like to blog about other things too that I feel much related to. I recently discovered that I do enjoy cooking. For the longest time, cooking to me was a nightmare.  This corona crisis has taught us that we can look forward to a new day with new possibilities to contribute or to help another, or to simply approach things differently, and most importantly to make the most of each day we have and share that goodness with others.
