It's amazing the amount of events being hosted this month by various retailers and exhibitors in Kuwait, and the fact that the Arab Summit was held a few days ago in our town did not help at all with the events-hopping. Most main roads were either completely jammed or closed for security reasons, and as a result I missed quite a few of the events which I was planning to go to (sorry to all of those who invited me to their events and I was unable to show up).
Anyhow, I managed to pass by Shanghai Tang's Spring/Summer 2014's trunk show at the Avenues Mall last Tuesday. The Chinese fashion lifestyle brand showcases various products ranging from ready-to-wear, bespoke tailoring, fashion accessories, to home and decoration. They main focus of the event was to highlight its Spring/Summer women and men's collection, they had a mini runway show, I posted a few photos on my instagram. They also had a Chinese calligrapher who instantly illustrates your name in chinese beautifully. The collection appeals to those who are in the look out for something modern yet with an oriental twist, a new sense of volume, fresh use of colour and relaxed silhouettes.
