Event: Shanghai Tang Spring/Summer 2014 Trunk Show

It's amazing the amount of events being hosted this month by various retailers and exhibitors in Kuwait, and the fact that the Arab Summit was held a few days ago in our town did not help at all with the events-hopping. Most main roads were either completely jammed or closed for security reasons, and as a result I missed quite a few of the events which I was planning to go to (sorry to all of those who invited me to their events and I was unable to show up).

Anyhow, I managed to pass by Shanghai Tang's Spring/Summer 2014's trunk show at the Avenues Mall last Tuesday. The Chinese fashion lifestyle brand showcases various products ranging from ready-to-wear, bespoke tailoring, fashion accessories, to home and decoration. They main focus of the event was to highlight its Spring/Summer women and men's collection, they had a mini runway show, I posted a few photos on my instagram. They also had a Chinese calligrapher who instantly illustrates your name in chinese beautifully. The collection appeals to those who are in the look out for something modern yet with an oriental twist, a new sense of volume, fresh use of colour and relaxed silhouettes. And here are some highlights of the evening...

A Shanghai Tang tee for the cute mini ones too.

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.

Amazing Alia

Several months ago I posted about Alia Designs , a Kuwaiti talented designer of traditional clothes and dresses. Back then, I liked one of the items featured on her website. This time I'm going ga-ga over her latest Ramadan collection of Kaftans and darraa'at! Especially the one shown here on the first picture. Looks very young, comfortable, and oh-so-perfect for after futoor! For inquiries please visit the website or call (+965) 642-7400.
