Let's Doooo-Bay

So, I spent my Eid holiday in the magical city of Dubai, siiigh... so close to my heart. It was one of the most relaxing and laziest holiday I have ever had in a looong time. And the great thing about it is that my family and relatives all traveled to Dubai at the same time. So I spent a lot of quality time with them. The only drawback was my mobile line. It already had roaming and international line services but annoyingly did not connect to the network the entire time I was in Dubai. I called the hotline for some help and I got the two most typical answers for any problem I had with my line: 1)Remove the battery. 2) Put your SIM card in a different mobile. Well guess what operator, I did both and still my mobile couldn't connect! Frustrating at first, but I guess it came to my advantage as I freed myself from technology for a bit. Anyhow, I wish I could have stayed longer to meet all the people I wanted to meet.  Too many things, too little time. Hopefully in my next visit soon.

A visit to Dubai wouldn't be complete without a quick shopping trip, so let's start with the ultimate accessory and arm candy: the bags. My absolute favorite was this Dries Van Noten suntan snakeskin leather clutch with black and white beading detail which I spotted at Harvey Nichols Dubai

I'm having a Givenchy moment ever since I saw the black panther skirt,. I spotted these pretty box clutches by Givenchy. But unfortunately, it can only fit my iPhone...

I posted about this florescent baby before here, but I can't get enough of it...

Baby blue CĂ©line box bag.. heart!

Boutique 1 was honestly my favorite shopping destination during my stay in Dubai and the most place I spent my shopping budget at. The shoes, bags, jewelry, and clothes selections were the just gorgeous and too hard to resist. I spotted these TDF Proenza Schouler bags (top and below) and couldn't decide on which one to get!! Or should I wait for the S/S collection?

Very impressed by the design of Victoria Beckham's bags. Loved this Two-tone leather and suede shoulder bag (also spotted them at Boutique 1).

Alexander McQueen velvet clutch was a bit on the snooze side...

Fuzzy Wuzzy was a ... clutch! Fuzzy Wuzzy had plenty of hair! I fell in love with this Mongolian fur clutch by Holly Fulton at Symphony boutique. My sister had a different opinion and quickly dragged me out of the store before I seal the deal. Sob! More to come on Dubai....

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?

To New Beginnings...

"What did this Corona crisis teach you?" my friend asked. My first thought was thing crisis has opened my eyes on the simple pleasures of life. My priorities have changed. And I feel every day is a new beginning. First of all, it made me realize how much I miss blogging. How simple and mentally satisfying it was to jolt down my thoughts on a field that I was very passionate about. I have to admit that I'm not as passionate now. Don't get me wrong, I still like fashion, but it's now on the bottom of my priorities list. I would like to blog about other things too that I feel much related to. I recently discovered that I do enjoy cooking. For the longest time, cooking to me was a nightmare.  This corona crisis has taught us that we can look forward to a new day with new possibilities to contribute or to help another, or to simply approach things differently, and most importantly to make the most of each day we have and share that goodness with others.
