Winter Wonderland

The bi-annual designer-bargain-hunting insanity otherwise known Al Othman's winter sale has officially started two days ago.  All Fall 2010 merchandise from the biggest brands in the fashion world is up to 30% Off. You don't want to miss out on fabulous pieces from Erdem, Louboutin, DVF (studded clutch featured here is by DVF), Oscar de la Renta, The Row, Alexander Wang... and more.  Here are some of my favorite things...

I'm not sure if these studded knee-high boots were on sale or not, but they were the last piece so I had to try them on.  The words "Last Piece" do wonders in the shopping world.  And by the way, they were 2 sizes smaller than my actual "Louboutin" size! And no I didn't buy them...

Very bold and beautiful RM by Roland Mouret  black long sleeves dress decorated with blue fan-like sequins. Was KD 2,298. Now? KD 1,608.

Black chiffon dress with black feather details by Hakaan. Was KD 769. Now KD 538

Carven retro inspired printed shirt dress. Was KD 269. Now KD 188

|Edun ruffle collar parka (ideal for our weather). Was KD 185. Now KD 129.5

Hey.Whale be in Kuwait this week and it's the first time I've visited in the winter. What is okay to wear in this weather now? Are boots too much? Like knee length ugg boots with tights for example? I don't want to be wearing boots and have people stare at me like I'm crazy or something! Please let me know.

It's a bit chilly during the day and it gets colder by night so it's perfectly fine to wear your boots... you'll find most girls in mall are wearing their UGGs and other leather boots :)

Magical Mode

As anyone who regularly reads Confashions may know, there are some designers I’ve been obsessed with for quite some time: one is the genius Erdem , the other is Nicholas Kirkwood , and Pierre Hardy . And because their designs are somehow easily accessible online and offline, I had the pleasure of featuring some of their creations and showing them the love they deserve. That said, there is one designer I’ve been particularly smitten with for quite some time. He has always been on the top of my favorite designers list ever since I was introduced to his designs by my fabulous fellow fashionisto Adnan Z Manjal   a couple of years back : Saudi designer Mohammed Ashi . I always wished I featured him more. I couldn’t because his pieces are very exclusive and as far as I know not stocked anywhere here. This clearly isn't just another post on my obvious love for Mohammed Ashi’s designs or the quality of his clothes as I have done that previously. Ashi simply deserves his very own epic p...

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?
