Kuwait Hearts Lanvin for H&M

My apologies for the late report on Lanvin for H&M's launch as it has been quite busy for me lately. And by now you already know the madness that occurred that day. So I'll just share some bits and pieces of my experience. And I'd like to thank my friend for allowing me to snap some photos of her accessories (she describes them as her most prized possessions). I didn't see any when I got there so it was a treat to get an up-close look at them. Things that I overheard:

"I was here since 6:00 in the morning!!"
"That girl bought 5 pieces of the same item! Not fair!"
"How come there are no purchasing rules applied here like they did in US and UK?!!"
"Can I buy that fur jacket from you for double the price?"
"Anyone wants that size 12 floral dress?" with her head peeping out from the fitting room.

If you have been following my tweets, then you've seen these photos which I have shared on Twitter the day of the launch. This was taken at 8:15 AM and it's the place where the shoes and mannequin were displayed. All rails were empty except for some few pieces and women were rushing around the store with armfuls of clothing and accessories.

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in Miu Miu Boutiques throughout our region.

Did you know that Marie Claire, an international women's magazine, has been launched in Kuwait and their second issue is already in newsstands? Winner of the Best Women's Magazine and Magazine of the Year award for 2005, the magazine reportedly has over 14 million readers worldwide with 26 editions in 13 languages across the world. Marie Clair - Kuwait is in Arabic of course. Amazing Alia
