Glam Your Evening

There are girls who start a “one-season-fashion-line” just because, and then there are girls who start a FASHION LINE with passion. Jenan Al-Fares is a Kuwaiti designer with a penchant for color, a ton of energy, and no shortage of creativity. She’s not new to the local fashion scene that’s for sure. In the past years, she has launched her line Jenan, hosted many exhibitions, and has her own showroom. And I admit, I haven’t been to any of them, but I have seen a few notable pieces on my friends. But today, thanks to the new-age of marketing using the facebook, I was able to view her latest glamorous eveningwear collection online. Mind you, I didn’t inspect the gowns up-close and personal but from what I’ve seen in the photos, I was completely impressed. There seems to be attention to detail and I loved how she added unexpected soft ruffles and ruching to the designs. In brief, the collection had a slightly 80’s/40’s feel, peppered with flirty details. Here are some of my favorite designs.

Jenan showroom is located in Jabrya block 1a, Street 6, bldg 24, first floor. You can contact Jenan at (+965) 66128238 or send an e-mail to jenanalfaris@gmail.com.

Well, i'm gonna go completely blunt regarding what I saw..
I've purchased before custom made items and garments and dresses made by kuwaiti designers but i was utterly dissapointed by what I saw 2day ..
the finishing was terrible , the sewing mark were all over and the fabrics were abused !
I'm sorry jenan u've got really good idea's but not the cleanest finish..
But the pictures sure look more amazing than the real thing..

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.

Amazing Alia

Several months ago I posted about Alia Designs , a Kuwaiti talented designer of traditional clothes and dresses. Back then, I liked one of the items featured on her website. This time I'm going ga-ga over her latest Ramadan collection of Kaftans and darraa'at! Especially the one shown here on the first picture. Looks very young, comfortable, and oh-so-perfect for after futoor! For inquiries please visit the website or call (+965) 642-7400.
