Struck By The Yellow Bug

It seems that spring's yellow bug has caught Al Othman. And I'm not complaining. I love yellow (especially bright yellow). It's the color for all seasons. Besides, brights were all over the spring runway shows. And I think this vibrant color makes a wise buy for cruise and beyond.

On my recent shopping spree I have noticed how yellow was dominating the racks and rails at my favorite boutique. So I decided to take a few snap shots of what's available now.

I liked this bright yellow beach-party-dress by Lela Rose. It can be the ideal transitional style. Wear with or without opaque tights, depending on the weather. If it's chilly outside, pair it with a long knitted chunky cardigan and stacked patent heels. For the summer, pair it with gladiator style sandals. Dress costs KD 359.

Another cocktail party dress by Lela Rose. The strapless dress with panel detail gives a fresh look and a nicer alternative to the LBD. Can be worn with a tuxedo jacket for a funky look. Or simply on it's own with a pair of grey or nude killer heels for an elegant look. Dress costs KD 298.

Mustardish yellow perfect-for-prom kind of dress by Vera Wang Lavendar. The shape of the dress is soooo easy to wear. It compliments all body shapes. And the little black brooches detail sets it apart from the common baby-doll look. Pair it with a shoe-boot for an updated style. The dress is sold for KD 179.

many of the designers these days leave room for lengthening the top or dress so if theres anything that you like, check out if the hem can be lengthened.

Dear lala,

I own Brown, which is in Tala Center :)

Im also scared of yellow but I think I will enjoy wearing it with a tan.

One color I used to avoid was purple but ofcourse with the fashion this year I embraced it whole heartedly from top to toe.

I think my new color for this coming season will be royal blue and when i manage to get a light tan, yellow. So excited!

hey. i think the lela rose top one is boring and repetitive. and sorry bes for its lack of design and 3adyness it seriously doesnt seem worth it! really.. these newfangled brands have expectations that are too high! love Othman though. and i just got this super cute minijupe from MiuMiu this summer in BRIGHT yellow silk. so fab!

the second and third are cute but the first is not not NOT. not only does it look totally unspecial, plain and blah, but it is not even near worth that price tag for something so common looking. i could have designed that in my sleep and sewed it with my left toe. i pity the one who pays 300 kd for it!

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?

To New Beginnings...

"What did this Corona crisis teach you?" my friend asked. My first thought was thing crisis has opened my eyes on the simple pleasures of life. My priorities have changed. And I feel every day is a new beginning. First of all, it made me realize how much I miss blogging. How simple and mentally satisfying it was to jolt down my thoughts on a field that I was very passionate about. I have to admit that I'm not as passionate now. Don't get me wrong, I still like fashion, but it's now on the bottom of my priorities list. I would like to blog about other things too that I feel much related to. I recently discovered that I do enjoy cooking. For the longest time, cooking to me was a nightmare.  This corona crisis has taught us that we can look forward to a new day with new possibilities to contribute or to help another, or to simply approach things differently, and most importantly to make the most of each day we have and share that goodness with others.
