Dear Confashion: Authentic... Not?

Normally, you shop online looking for things that are either sold out, not sold in Kuwait, or simply to get the deal of a lifetime. Unaware of the risks that involve online shopping. Have you ever asked yourself if the site you're shopping from is trust-worthy or not? How come there is no "About us" section on the website? Why is COD is the only form of payment? How come there are no contact numbers or a physical address of the office/Co.?

One of my readers copied me on an e-mail sent to the owner of a Kuwaiti online shopping site called 7ata7eet.com. She was furious when she found out that the UGGS which were sold on 7ata7eet.com were actually fake based on her research.

Dear 7ata7eet,

Thank God I did my research before purchasing. You will find below 2 links detailing how you can tell the difference between a real UGG and a fake.My friends who bought from you, who I've CCed on this email, don't have the ® after "UGG" on the bottom of their shoes. Additionally, it would explain why my friend who wears a size 40 and bought the shoes from you found the shoe to run a bit small. The fake one runs small as you can see from the links below.

Regards,
AA

I'm not bashing the owner of 7ata7eet.com, after all, it is a personal choice to sell and profit from unauthentic goods. And some people don't mind buying such goods. But I think any shop owner should have at least the decency to state if the goods are authentic or not (A Birkin sold for KD 150?!). And "if" the UGG boots were really authentic, we would appreciate it if the owner could back it up with some facts and proofs of authenticity just to clear things out and be fair to all.

7ata7eet is not the only website doing this, unfortunately. These sites are just like the unauthorized resellers we have plenty of here, there is a very high chance it is taqleed and they don't even mention it. Heck they're 3 times more expensive than the US based websites.

I bought UGGs from 7ata7eet, and the moment I got them i knew they were fakes. The thing that really pissed me off is the fact that I asked whether or not they were fakes, and she kept on telling me they were, in fact, 100% authentic. It's not that I care about the money, because they really are comfortable, but I feel like she took advantage of me.

7ata7eet has the worst customer service I have ever seen in my entire life. who's ever running it doesn not disclose her identity, she claims that her UGGs are authentic and they're NOT and she communicates with customers only through emails and text msgs in which she speaks to them rudely. Clearly this kid is so unprofessional, dishonest and does not know how to run a business.
I'm sure you can get your money back because you can file a case/complaint against her. She's unauthorized and a fraud. Her business should be shut down!

Some people buy unauthentic merchandise from unauthorized sellers who sell these made in god knows where goods on eBay! So I'm guessing the owner of 7ata7eet buys them from there and just resells them online to make money. All these online stores and fashion boutiques in Kuwait are popping up like mushrooms, but very few actually understand fashion.

Confassion....I have been thinking for a long time that someone should do an expose on all these fake sites.

There is one easy way to know if a site is credible or not, does it have a payment gateway? Why? Because the only way to get a payment gateway through one of the banks here is if you have a "Rikhsa" for a store(commercial license). So, if they dont have it, it means they are either fakes, or they are buying them from shops and re-selling them, they are not buying them directly from the designer. The only fashion sites I know of in Kuwait that are licenced are MyPinkmoon.com and Pretasouk.com

Why would anyone buy from a site that asks u to order through their Hotmail account?????

Organic Kuwait: Kuwait-mall is so NOT authentic, I don't care what they 'guarantee'. In fact, any site that has to use the word 'authentic' is probably not authentic. Last time I checked, Net-a-porter didnt say it's bags were 'authentic'.

yes!!!! THANK U!! alas, people who share the same concerns about this distressing site. I have talked to the owner, who's SEVENTEEN years old btw, and she spoke to me in the most abrupt & rude way claiming that she gets her boots from the original factory itself and she wants all her money to be "7alal". How stupidly ironic when the balenciaga moon bag is sold at 70 kd and an hermes birkin at 150? Haha, seriously. I can happily show you the emails in which we discussed her Ugg trauma.
Brilliant blog confashions, way to go! xx

I was stupid enough to order an IPAD from Kuwait-mall.com in Feb 2010. It was never delivered. I was fed one lie after another by her. I have now been waiting for a refund of my money since beginning of August. Her name is Nouf Al-Yamani and the numbers I have are 66118881 and 67747082. I think she lives in Qurtuba. If anyone knows any more about her please post it here (CID, car plates, home phone, etc..)to warn the public to stay clear of this thief.

Saks In Bahrain

I went to Saks Fifth Avenue store in Bahrain. The two-level store is located in City Centre Mall and has a collection of American and international clothes designers for Men and Women as well as jewelry, accessories, handbags, fragrances, cosmetics, intimate apparel, bridal, and children's apparel. However, I was slightly disappointed by the small selection, maybe because all items were on sale? Or the number and variety of brands were limited? Anyhow, my favourite section at Saks - Bahrain was Saks's world-famous 10022-SHOE salon (shown in the photo below). It had the same look & feel of the NY's shoe salon but of course not the same space. The Shoe Salon had really nice selection and they were all on sale! I have been told by Saks Sales Assistant that they will be hosting numerous special events throughout the year such as fashion shows and personal appearances by designers. Now that's something I'd be interested in! In addition, they currently offer in-st
