A Walk Through AlOthman

I've been meaning to post about AlOthman's newly relocated boutique but have been quite busy lately. Today I have finally managed to take photos of the new boutique, which is still located at Maryam Complex, but now it's where Guess and The Basement (the huge kids store) used to be. The space is mega huge! It officially looks like a luxury department store. Every category of clothing and accessories is neatly grouped and displayed in a dedicated area. My favorite section has to be the accessories area of course, I could easily spend hours trying on shoes and custom jewelry.

Designed by talented Kuwaiti Architect Nesef Al Nesef, the store's interior and space is ultra modern and classy. There seemed to be literally thousands of lights, because the place looked so bright with a luminous sparkle. The first thing you see when you come in is the drool-worthy mind blowing Fur section, which I'll thoroughly check out when the budget allows. I do have other shopping priorities you know. And then to the left is the contemporary collection, where you can find casual chic pieces by brands such as Elizabeth and James, Helmut Lang, Camilla and Marc, Isabel Marant... etc. Followed by the high-end section where you will find brands such as Oscar de la Renta, Erdem, Balmain, Victoria Beckham and more. And then there is a dedicated and secluded area for eveningwear, a Bridal Salon, a small lounge area with complimentary drinks and treats, and a whole section of homeware by the beautiful and functional line ecru. I'll leave now to skim through the images I have taken of the brand-new AlOthman Boutique and some of my favorite picks.

More resort pieces from Oscar de la Renta

One of the purchases I have made were these budget-friendly loafers by Pretty Loafers with exotic skin effect, if my memory serves me right, they were around KD 60.

More Pretty Loafers

Aperlai flats with a cute pompom

Rachel Zoe jewelry

Edie Parker clutch, loving the mother-of-pearl detail

I like the fact that the boutique now has a private prayer room complete with beautifully packaged thoub cases.

A glimpse of the Bridal Salon

the wallpaper in the restrooms are just beyond pretty!

Would you like to have some cake while they wrap your purchases? Yum!

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?

To New Beginnings...

"What did this Corona crisis teach you?" my friend asked. My first thought was thing crisis has opened my eyes on the simple pleasures of life. My priorities have changed. And I feel every day is a new beginning. First of all, it made me realize how much I miss blogging. How simple and mentally satisfying it was to jolt down my thoughts on a field that I was very passionate about. I have to admit that I'm not as passionate now. Don't get me wrong, I still like fashion, but it's now on the bottom of my priorities list. I would like to blog about other things too that I feel much related to. I recently discovered that I do enjoy cooking. For the longest time, cooking to me was a nightmare.  This corona crisis has taught us that we can look forward to a new day with new possibilities to contribute or to help another, or to simply approach things differently, and most importantly to make the most of each day we have and share that goodness with others.
