LFW: All That Glitters....

Oh look what we have here! Another London Fashion Week post! Actually I just stumbled upon another batch of photos that I have taken during my London Fashion Week experience which I completely forgot about. And I guess it's not too late to share them with you. Today's post is focused on the new jewelry brands that I came across, or new to me at least.

Yunus & Eliza is a London-based jewelry brand that stopped me in my tracks. Their selection of rings, bracelets, and necklaces were beyond amazing! They basically bridge the gap between art and fashion. Or in other words, they design sculptures to be worn and flaunted. Check out the Dali Puppet ring in the first photo shown above, simply TDF! The next three photos are also pieces by Yunus & Eliza. They're not all from their brand's S/S 2013 collection, but they're definitely worth to be showcased and admired.

This statement necklace by Erickson Beamon is not from the S/S 2013 collection, however it was on display. I have seen it on net-a-porter previously but of course it's sold out not. It's utterly gorgeous!

If my memory serves me right, I think these beautiful hoop earrings are by Fiona Paxton, whom I have previously featured on my blog here.

This super adorable horse necklace is by a brand called Renaissance Life by a Swedish jewelry designer Linnea Gotstav who is currently based in London. She makes symbolic and meaningful pieces named after different years. For example, this featured necklace is named Year 1970, and the story behind it is that if you wear this freedom horse, you will always be free and have this passion to explore the world. Personally I'm not sure how true is that, but it's an interesting concept to make a connection between the designed material pieces with the psychological side of life.

Remember my previous post on a french accessories brand called: Les Nereides here? Well I got to see their latest S/S 2013 collection up-close (photos above and below). Les Nereides offers a fun and unique selection of necklaces, bracelets, and earrings inspired by nature, culture, skulls, and fairytales. The handcrafted collection makes a perfect addition to your Summer Wardrobe.

Seattle born jewellery designer Kyle Hopkins introduced this avant-garde selection of earrings, rings, and necklaces using women statuettes as an inspiration. I was amazed by the attention to detail and how well-crafted the pieces were, especially on the ring shown below. His stunning work has been featured in publications such as Dazed & Confused, Hunger Magazine, Garage, Vogue and Another.

I fell in love with London based Jewellery brand Imogen Belfield's pieces, they look like as if they've been picked and crafted from nature, or lava rocks to be more precise. According to the designer, each piece created with porcelain fused into metal is unique and cannot be recreated, making this work incredibly covetable.

Saks In Bahrain

I went to Saks Fifth Avenue store in Bahrain. The two-level store is located in City Centre Mall and has a collection of American and international clothes designers for Men and Women as well as jewelry, accessories, handbags, fragrances, cosmetics, intimate apparel, bridal, and children's apparel. However, I was slightly disappointed by the small selection, maybe because all items were on sale? Or the number and variety of brands were limited? Anyhow, my favourite section at Saks - Bahrain was Saks's world-famous 10022-SHOE salon (shown in the photo below). It had the same look & feel of the NY's shoe salon but of course not the same space. The Shoe Salon had really nice selection and they were all on sale! I have been told by Saks Sales Assistant that they will be hosting numerous special events throughout the year such as fashion shows and personal appearances by designers. Now that's something I'd be interested in! In addition, they currently offer in-st
