Where to Shop in Cannes?

After our cultural trip to Istanbul, Turkey, our second destination was the French Rivera. And it was the laziest trip I have ever had in ages!! It was all about eating, chillaxing, cruising the Côte d'Azur (Cannes, St. Tropez, and Jean Les Pins), beach bumming, and soaking up the sun. And naturally I had to squeeze in some shopping too, but I only shopped for several hours during my entire stay! believe it or not!

I have noticed after my Istanbul posts, I have received a lot of e-mails asking me of recommendations on where to go, shop, and eat. So I've decided to write dedicated posts to address your inquiries, which reminds me, I need to post about restaurants where we has the most scrumptious meals in Istanbul. More on that later.

Today's post is about giving my own perspective on shopping in Cannes. One thing's for sure, it's not London, so I didn't shop for days! High-end designer boutiques like Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Balenciaga, Celine, Miu Miu, Prada, Hermes... etc were located along the Croisette. So those were easy to amble along and shop. Then I headed to Cannes's main shopping street Rue d’Antibes, which was much less pretentious than the Croisette. You will find all sorts of high-street shops like Zara and Benetton, franchises like MaxMara, Sandro, Maje, Comptoir des Cotonniers, Repetto, and Zadig & Voltaire. Also a couple of multi-brand designer boutiques, some furniture & jewellery shops, and the second best Sephora boutique I have been to so far (my No.1 is Paris). There was Galeries Lafayette on rue du Marechal Foch, but I was too lazy to go there. I'm sure it had a nice selection of clothes and accessories.

Now back to the multi-brand boutique, I discovered a concept store called Le Shop 17, where you will find clothes and accessories by the likes of Pierre Balmain, Alaïa, Carven, and Jean Paul Gaultier. They also stock an exclusive skincare range called Codage, which was highly recommended by a friend of mine. Basically it's a customized skincare line that includes both nutritional supplements and serums for the face and eyes. They also had a selection of art books and design objects. The way they had displayed their merchandise was kind of messy and uninviting. But nothing stops a shopaholic like me!

While browsing the shops on Rue d’Antibes I came across a multi-brand boutique called Le Grand Bazar, it's a three-storey treasure trove where you will find the coolest brands and some other under-the-radar designers like Isabel Marant, MSGM, Marni, Proenza Schouler, Martin Margiela, and other cool brands which I have never heard of before. This was definitely my favorite shopping destination in Cannes, and yes almost everything in-store had a mind-numbing price tag. So you've been warned. Phew! That was a long post! Scroll down for more.

Another place I discovered was the Jacques Loup boutique where you will find brands like Fendi, Jimmy Choo, Rupert Sanderson, Marni, Roland Mouret, and more. It had a massive selection of shoes.

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.
