Helloooo Philooooo

I was shopping around at Arraya complex when suddenly! Lo and behold... there they were, this season’s most coveted items from one of the most incredible designers of our generation were right there in front of me, the crisply chic safari jacket, the impeccably sharp collarless white shirt neatly tucked in high-waisted, wide-legged pants, the clog-ish/wedge sandals, and the canvas & leather day bag in palette of camel, navy blue, and khaki. Yes my dear readers, those were the latest Céline S/S 2010 collection designed by the super genius Phoebe Philo.
There is this incredible aura about Philo. Anything she touches turns into gold. Remember her designs for Chloé? Almost every piece on the runway was just perfect. And this legacy continued with Céline’s latest collections. Practical, timeless, and flattering, just what every woman wants.

According to the sales assistant at Céline’s boutique, the new collection has arrived almost a week ago. Needless to say that I spent at least two hours inside the store (God bless the sales assistant) and unfortunately, the short sleeved leather top was not available.  But that's OK, I got over it with a snap after seeing this and Céline’s classic box bag (you can see it in the last photo peeping behind the canvase tote).

I'm not sure what's the price on the blue python, but the one in the last photo is around KD 430. The plain tan was 300 something KD.

I couldn't agree more. Some bags are really overhyped and overpriced. I recently was thiiis close to buy a designer bag only to find out that it was made in china and the quality of the bag was not that great and it was kind of smelly.. (after a close inspection) I believe Celine's bags are worth every penny esp if you take a close look at the quality of leather, the finishing, their life span.. and si3erhum 7ilo.. and you're welcome ;)

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?

To New Beginnings...

"What did this Corona crisis teach you?" my friend asked. My first thought was thing crisis has opened my eyes on the simple pleasures of life. My priorities have changed. And I feel every day is a new beginning. First of all, it made me realize how much I miss blogging. How simple and mentally satisfying it was to jolt down my thoughts on a field that I was very passionate about. I have to admit that I'm not as passionate now. Don't get me wrong, I still like fashion, but it's now on the bottom of my priorities list. I would like to blog about other things too that I feel much related to. I recently discovered that I do enjoy cooking. For the longest time, cooking to me was a nightmare.  This corona crisis has taught us that we can look forward to a new day with new possibilities to contribute or to help another, or to simply approach things differently, and most importantly to make the most of each day we have and share that goodness with others.
