Sneak Peak Of AlSabah Art & Design Gallery's Privte Event

Last night was the private viewing of Sheikh Majed Al-Sabah's new art gallery and we got a sneak preview thanks to one special reader. Sheikh Majed has commissioned two Swiss artists Comenius Roethllsberger & Admir Jahic To develop a series of work in memory of Arab icons. The exhibition is a tribute to celebrity figures of the Arab world put together with snippets of the regions energetic youth culture in work such as crazy Arab car stunts and girl afraid of her own shadow.

VIVA participated in the event as an Internet host in the first AlSabah Art & Design Collection Gallery defining the concept of art meets technology.

There was also a gift shop inside the Gallery called I Love Souk which sells items all designed by Shaikh Majed. The items represent the region's heritage in a very fashionable manner and very affordable prices. The gallery is open to the public today at Al Corniche.

U know what dissapoints me?
the fact that we Kuwaitis cannot aknowledge the effort Sheik Majed Al Sabah has put into opening a Kuwaiti based department store that is slowly growing into a worldwide sensation, and instead most Kuwaitis will walk around trying to break his spirits and bring him down, while in Dubai Sheik Majed is being praised and supported by people of the elite society and is even given unique opertunities to help him grow bigger :)
Ive heard from a Villa Moda worker in Dubai that an Emarati business man has baught 70% of Villa Modas shares "i believe to help Sheik Majed out with the business and expansion" while Sheik Majed is still working as the Head of the Company.
Its a shame how our business men/women are being helped out and aknowledge by outsiders when we have all the ability in Kuwait but we dont have ducated poeple who bother thinking about acknowledging such efforts :(

Sorry if there are any Typos or grammar mistakes wrote this in a hurry hope my message is clear ;)

Magical Mode

As anyone who regularly reads Confashions may know, there are some designers I’ve been obsessed with for quite some time: one is the genius Erdem , the other is Nicholas Kirkwood , and Pierre Hardy . And because their designs are somehow easily accessible online and offline, I had the pleasure of featuring some of their creations and showing them the love they deserve. That said, there is one designer I’ve been particularly smitten with for quite some time. He has always been on the top of my favorite designers list ever since I was introduced to his designs by my fabulous fellow fashionisto Adnan Z Manjal   a couple of years back : Saudi designer Mohammed Ashi . I always wished I featured him more. I couldn’t because his pieces are very exclusive and as far as I know not stocked anywhere here. This clearly isn't just another post on my obvious love for Mohammed Ashi’s designs or the quality of his clothes as I have done that previously. Ashi simply deserves his very own epic p...

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?
