Event: Aila & Deena Fall & Winter 08/09

November boutique will be hosting two magical nights filled with must have fashionable clothes and jewel like clutches as well as desserts and great music.

One is Aila, a gorgeous collection of clutches in exotic leathers and exquisite styles designed by Amal Khourshid, a Kuwaiti bag designer based in Beirut. Aila has been gaining great appreciation and response all over the Middle East. And this is her second exhibition in Kuwait. Aila bags are already being sold at Gojiboutique.com, Brown Booteek in Kuwait, Kitsch in Dubai, and CREAM boutique in Beirut.

The second brand is Deena, by Kuwaiti designer Deena Khourshid. Her collection includes chunky knitwear with a stylish twist that meets the brand's signature: chic retro femininity. An exclusive collection that features an innovative combination of delicate dresses and textured fabrics with velvet and lace trims. Unique details appear on lace tunics, over sized sweaters, and ruffled cardigans. Here's a sneak peak of what you will find at the exhibitions...

The events will be hosted on Saturday and Sunday the 8th and 9th of November Saturday from 11:00am to 9:30pm and Sunday from 5:30pm to 9:30pm. November boutique located at Tilal complex in Shuwaikh.

The designs are so cute but when i saw a clutch purchased by a friend, i was highly disappointed in the leather quality...therefore, i think the prices should not be that high. If the leather was of better quality, her designs will be complete.

Thank you for all your kind feedback. With reference to the comment about the leather quality, we actually use over 15 different kinds of leather and you have an array of different types to choose from. Some leathers are more supple than others and it depends on your choice of color. We also have genuine snake in the new collection which is naturally more expensive.

Once again thank you for all your feedback and please note that both gogiboutique.com and Brown Booteek (Tala Center) will continue to stock Aila Bags after the exhibition.

Saks In Bahrain

I went to Saks Fifth Avenue store in Bahrain. The two-level store is located in City Centre Mall and has a collection of American and international clothes designers for Men and Women as well as jewelry, accessories, handbags, fragrances, cosmetics, intimate apparel, bridal, and children's apparel. However, I was slightly disappointed by the small selection, maybe because all items were on sale? Or the number and variety of brands were limited? Anyhow, my favourite section at Saks - Bahrain was Saks's world-famous 10022-SHOE salon (shown in the photo below). It had the same look & feel of the NY's shoe salon but of course not the same space. The Shoe Salon had really nice selection and they were all on sale! I have been told by Saks Sales Assistant that they will be hosting numerous special events throughout the year such as fashion shows and personal appearances by designers. Now that's something I'd be interested in! In addition, they currently offer in-st
