Not Very Paris Fashion Week

During Paris Fashion Week, I managed to visit some of my favourite places in Paris and did some window shopping (because by the time we got back to our hotel the stores were already closed).

My number one destination for self-indulgent treat was La Duree (pictured below) I wish I was able to take photos from the inside. La Duree is famous for it's wide variety of flavoured Macaroons in different shapes and sizes. I ordered my fave macaroon which is Vanilla Flavoured (YUM!). I can easily eat half a dozen of those in less than an hour!

Of course, a trip to Paris wouldn't be complete without visiting Collette. I managed to get a photo of the side of the store as shown above. I never understood the hype about this store. Yes it's fun to see the funkiest latest gadgets, books, CDs, and some accessories. But it's definitely not a shopping destination for those who want to buy clothes. Their clothes selection is very limited and "very" small in sizes!

My window shopping started at Avenue George V and ended at Avenue Montaigne (and some Avenue Saint Honore). Here are some of the interesting window displays I've seen. And silly me, I forgot to take a photo of the 2 most important stores in Paris: Chanel and Hermes. I was probably too mesmerised by their beautiful window display.

Louis Vuitton Boutique (with a display of their ugliest handbag)

The photo on the left is LV and on the right is Miu Miu

The above photo is Kenzo's window display which looked very 70's chic

Sonia Rykiel had one of the cutest cocktail dresses I have ever seen on their window display. Too bad it was in white..

Stay Tuned, more info on Paris in my future posts..

You're going to hate me for this but I hate La duree.

I mean the service was really rude and slow. I know this is France and waiters have to be slow and rude or they'll probably get fired but still they took it a step too far plus the macarons that I had were stale!

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?

To New Beginnings...

"What did this Corona crisis teach you?" my friend asked. My first thought was thing crisis has opened my eyes on the simple pleasures of life. My priorities have changed. And I feel every day is a new beginning. First of all, it made me realize how much I miss blogging. How simple and mentally satisfying it was to jolt down my thoughts on a field that I was very passionate about. I have to admit that I'm not as passionate now. Don't get me wrong, I still like fashion, but it's now on the bottom of my priorities list. I would like to blog about other things too that I feel much related to. I recently discovered that I do enjoy cooking. For the longest time, cooking to me was a nightmare.  This corona crisis has taught us that we can look forward to a new day with new possibilities to contribute or to help another, or to simply approach things differently, and most importantly to make the most of each day we have and share that goodness with others.
