That's Haute!!

Impeccable fitting, ladylike elegance, gorgeous colors, incredible draping, deconstructed shapes, floral frocks, outstanding origami details, and over-the-top bubble shaped dresses are just a few words to describe Paris Haute Couture Spring 2008 Collections. Most shows were simply genius works of art. Some were beautiful on the runway but wouldn't dare to wear them in real-life. But overall, the couture shows were absolutely divine. Armani Privé was pure perfection and my fave with its edgy uptown girl meets high drama polished femininity.

Below are my top picks from Paris Haute Couture Spring 2008 Collections, you know, just in case I get invited to a wedding or a formal dinner or have to go to baby reception, my people will contact Armani's people to make the required arrangements.. now where's the measurement tape... and my mom's credit card..

Let's Start with Armani Privé...

And next, let's have a look at one of the dresses which i really liked from the Dior collection, which I think is wearable if you're skinny thin and fairly tall...

The following are some of the nicest pieces shown at Valentino show..

And finally I totally fell in love with this breathtaking white cocktail dress from Givenchy..

Pink
Don't mean to interfer but why sell it?! I say keep it! It could be a collector's item. Maybe with few alterations you could wear it again? Or maybe give it to a close family member?

Anyhoo... It's your choice at the end ;) Well, You can tryy contacting Madame La Reine. They resell designer goods on your behalf. Check out this post for further details:

Pink, i took some of my mothers Dior Couture dresses from the 70s and 80s and they readjusted them for me making them wearable today. These pieces are truly timeless u should keep them wallah especially since Ferre died this year.
Get in touch with Alex on the
(http://the-polyglot.blogspot.com)he knows the industry inside out. Dior might be interested in buying it back if its an important piece & in Paris their are specialized vintage couture shops that would be interested and know the value of such a dress.

Confashion, did yo see Versace's spring couture pieces? Even though i am not a Versace fan but i was soo impressed, they are truly stunning dresses. I bet we shall see some in the Oscars. Oh and check out Stephane Rolland he is one of my favorites as well.

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?

To New Beginnings...

"What did this Corona crisis teach you?" my friend asked. My first thought was thing crisis has opened my eyes on the simple pleasures of life. My priorities have changed. And I feel every day is a new beginning. First of all, it made me realize how much I miss blogging. How simple and mentally satisfying it was to jolt down my thoughts on a field that I was very passionate about. I have to admit that I'm not as passionate now. Don't get me wrong, I still like fashion, but it's now on the bottom of my priorities list. I would like to blog about other things too that I feel much related to. I recently discovered that I do enjoy cooking. For the longest time, cooking to me was a nightmare.  This corona crisis has taught us that we can look forward to a new day with new possibilities to contribute or to help another, or to simply approach things differently, and most importantly to make the most of each day we have and share that goodness with others.
