Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience

Last Thursday I traveled to Dubai for Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience, a major fashion event hosted by Mrs. Franca Sozzani, Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Italia, and Mr. Mohamed Alabbar, Chairman of Emaar Properties at Dubai Mall. There were so many events that night that I couldn't physically be present at all of them! Imagine a fashion show celebrating emerging talents such as Razan Azzouni, Ashi Studio, and Simon Rocha to name a few, fashion exhibitions, interactive events, celebrity appearances and, of course, plenty of shopping opportunities. You can view some photos of my fashion adventure on my instagram @confashions.

One of the many events I was invited to was Level Shoes District's Let the Shoe Begin. And in a nutshell it was beyond spectacular! I spotted many international fashion icons in the circus/showtime-themed event such as Nicholas Kirkwood, Edgardo Osorio of Aquazurra, Dean and Dan, the twins behind DSquared, designer Phillip Plein, Bollywood favourite Shilpa Shetty,  Sofia Guellaty (one of my favorite style icons and the Senior Editor of Style.com/Arabia and who I had the pleasure to meet with later at the lobby of mu hotel for a friendly chat), Chinese actress and supermodel Cathy Chow and Maya Diab. AND guests were entertained by an exclusive DJ set by music and style sensation Solange Knowles. How cool was that?!! During the evening, I was amused by marvelous and overwhelming shoes selection,  they also had professional mini shows on each corner to entertain guests. I also had a great pleasure chatting with Sofia Guellaty and Laurence Vely of Vanity Fair magazine (French edition). Below you will find some highlights of the evening.

And then I quickly headed to Symphony Boutique's event held at their store, to celebrate their 3rd birthday, gustes got a preview of their upcoming online shopping site, and guests rubbed shoulders with none other than street style star Miroslava Duma,  the founder of Buro 24/7, a killer lifestyle website. I almost fainted when she complimented my outfit and she was beyond sweet. I was also warmly greeted by Salama AlAbbar and Holly Williams, the dynamic team behind Symphony Boutique.

What makes Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience a meaningful event is that a portion of the proceeds from that fabulous fashion night, went to Dubai Cares, a philanthropic organization working to improve children’s access to quality primary education in developing countries. I leave you now with highlights of the evening...

Maya Diab... I wish she would tone down her sex appeal a little.

Maya Diab's outfit looks exactly like rihanna's except that riri had those long black lace gloves and pearl necklace.
riri was also wearing similar tights and round glasses.
so the question here is maya trying to be Rihanna?

here is the link to rihanna's outfit

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.

Did you know that Marie Claire, an international women's magazine, has been launched in Kuwait and their second issue is already in newsstands? Marie Clair - Kuwait is in Arabic of course. Have you read it? If yes, what do you think of it?

Sephora Opening Soon At The Avenues II

Beauty Junkies rejoice! The famous retailer of perfumes and cosmetics and the leading beauty chain in Europe and US, Sephora , will be opening soon at The Avenues Phase II. Personally, I like Sephora not only because of its tempting cosmetic selection, but mainly because I don't feel pressured by sales associates to buy stuff that I don't really need. I can actually touch and try the products without having the sales associate stalking me around and giving me some unnecessary comments about my skin/make-up. I think Sephora will make it big here if it sells its high-end cosmetics which are unavailable at other beauty stores/pharmacies in Kuwait. Does anyone have any product recommendations or favorites?
