Unless you've been hibernating in your underground bunker and being anti-social media for the past few weeks, you probably have heard about the hottest hair news sweeping K-town, that is floral headbands by local brand Ninas de Papa.
Ninas de Papa design over-the-top and oh-so-pretty floral hair bands using artificial flowers made of high quality materials such as silk. They're all handmade by the designers themselves Sarah Alabdulkareem and Nora Al Amer. So you can actually tell that the hairbands are a true labour of love.
A couple of weeks back, my friend and I paid them a visit at their studio. I was amazed by the beauty of the hairbands up-close and we immediately started trying on every sample they had. I know for sure we gave poor Nora a headache with our indecisiveness and over-excitement. Plus we had a hard time deciding on what we liked the most. They all looked so pretty!
According to the designers, they were initially inspired by one of their Norwegian friend who wore a fresh flower hairband to a wedding, so the girls decided to give it a shot and try designing their own. Their first resort collection includes seven different hairbands inspired by seven of their close friends including hip fashion blogger and DJ Bip Ling.
