Atelier Mayer and the Overdressed Bahrain Luncheon

Atelier-Mayer, an online retailer for luxury vintage fashion and accessories, and Bahrain-based addictive fashion blog The overdressed hosted an exclusive private luncheon at the Al Khalifa residence in Riffa. Unfortunately I missed this event. But the Atelier-Mayer were kind enough to share with me some photos of this intimate bash.  Classical violinist Theresa Finzi, granddaughter of famed British composer Raphael Finzi, enchanted the atmosphere with Haydn, Mozart and Vivaldi.

Cocktails of pomegranate and lime juice with fragrant rose water cooled the steaming fashion crowd who were heatedly debating their next vintage acquisitions. Lunch was served on a tropical garden terrace with palm tree vista juxtaposed with Parisian jazz. At a stunning table setting we ate organic dill rice, freshly grilled vegetables and traditional lamb stew. The homemade pesto lasagna was long gone before some of the guests could get hold of it. We finished off with delicious rosewater and date macaroons by Alexandra M, homemade mini cheesecakes and crème brulee with pistachio Ishtha. Happy shoppers didn't leave empty handed: Fabulous goodie bags including Camilla Morton’s newly launched book “Christian Lacroix and the Tale of Sleeping Beauty” hot off the press, a selection of exclusive The overdressed postcards, a special Atelier-Mayer lip gloss inspired by Klimt containing 24 carat gold leaf, and a selection of typical Austrian Salzburger Mozart chocolates. Wish I was there!

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.
