Little Miss Lanvin

You probably know by now that Alber Elbaz created six Miss Lanvin porcelain hand painted dolls with Taiwanese ceramics company Franz. The series of dolls from Lanvin feature seven silhouettes from the S/S 08 Lanvin collection as well as the bridal capsule collection. Each of these cute little dolls are produced in a limited series of 800, numbered and signed.

Miniature Dolls by Lanvin will be available at Browns Fashion (you need to add your name to their waiting list daaahling). However you can get them now at Villa Moda Bahrain AND they're on 50% discount. HOWEVER, the price tag of these cute dolls is not cute at all. It is retailed at BD 400. And that's the AFTER sale price.

Well, Anonymous, that because you're a girl...
I on the other hand, want these dolls, actually need these dolls. PRice tag is ridiculos, even more ridiculous than the other fabulous toy, Karl Lagerfeld bear.

And let's face it, buying on of these Lanvin dolls is NOT ENOUGH!

azm: eew the karl lagerfeld bear? seriously? Karl would jump on anything to make more money, he basically turned Chanel into Gucci! and btw, i saw these in Roma 2 years ago and they were on sale even then!! ...someone sells old news (villa moda bahrain not confash (who i love, always)) :)

WEEEEEEEELL

Those dolls are the closest thing to actuall Lanvin dresses. As in, I have no reason to buy a Lanvin dress, EVER, but those dolls are pieces of art for me.
Alber Elbaz is a genuis, the most exciting designer since Gianni Versace for women.

And you're right miss ghesquiere, about Karl making money...
But still, he's an icon figuritively.
Just like Marc Jacobs is a fashion icon or Anna Wintour or Grace Jones...

On a different note, miss ghesquiere, don't just hate how great Balenciaga is for women, and awfull and boring it is for men?!

I rather buy a Lanvin dress even if I do not wear it and stick it into a frame for my archives!

what does the price come to in $? I say if you have the extra money why not..I personally think they are gorgeous pieces of art and they are sure to become a collector's item. I love them because they kind of look like the s/s 08 ads which I thought were amazing.
As far as Karl, it's not just him, unfortunately this is what the fashion/luxury industry has come down to. They care about the bottom line, which translates in the democratization of luxury, which in itself is an oxymoron.
As for Balenciaga, couldn't agree more the men's line is as boring as the Dior women's line, and the women's is as genius as Dior Homme circa Hedi Slimane.

I saw them in Villa Moda Bahrain the other day. They are fab. Pieces of Art- though the price is a bit on the crazy side. i love the little blond one with sunglasses- she looks like a Anna Wintour!

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?

To New Beginnings...

"What did this Corona crisis teach you?" my friend asked. My first thought was thing crisis has opened my eyes on the simple pleasures of life. My priorities have changed. And I feel every day is a new beginning. First of all, it made me realize how much I miss blogging. How simple and mentally satisfying it was to jolt down my thoughts on a field that I was very passionate about. I have to admit that I'm not as passionate now. Don't get me wrong, I still like fashion, but it's now on the bottom of my priorities list. I would like to blog about other things too that I feel much related to. I recently discovered that I do enjoy cooking. For the longest time, cooking to me was a nightmare.  This corona crisis has taught us that we can look forward to a new day with new possibilities to contribute or to help another, or to simply approach things differently, and most importantly to make the most of each day we have and share that goodness with others.
