Saks In Bahrain

I went to Saks Fifth Avenue store in Bahrain. The two-level store is located in City Centre Mall and has a collection of American and international clothes designers for Men and Women as well as jewelry, accessories, handbags, fragrances, cosmetics, intimate apparel, bridal, and children's apparel. However, I was slightly disappointed by the small selection, maybe because all items were on sale? Or the number and variety of brands were limited?

Anyhow, my favourite section at Saks - Bahrain was Saks's world-famous 10022-SHOE salon (shown in the photo below). It had the same look & feel of the NY's shoe salon but of course not the same space. The Shoe Salon had really nice selection and they were all on sale!

I have been told by Saks Sales Assistant that they will be hosting numerous special events throughout the year such as fashion shows and personal appearances by designers. Now that's something I'd be interested in! In addition, they currently offer in-store amenities such as skin care treatment rooms, luxury fitting rooms, and the Fifth Avenue Club, its complimentary personal shopping service. Oh! and by the way, Saks will also open in Kuwait, probably in a year or two. I wonder how it's going to be like..

Not a fan of Saks...
First Saks to open in the ME was in Riyadh, a few years back, women only.
Then in Dubai, and in 2008 they opend in Jeddah for men and women.
So now Bahrain and later Kuwait...

Saks is not as exciting as other luxury department store in US, aka Barney's and Bergdorf Goodman. Actually Saks is boring.

I like to see in Bahrain, like some in Kuwait, Jeddah and Riyadh local concept boutiques. Where locals would start a boutique featuring their favorite designers from all over the world, US to Europe to Japan and Brazil. That to me is more exciting than another international departmen store opening...

Did you know that Bloomingdale's and Harrods are opening sometime this year in Dubai!!!!?

I still wonder, why are you in Bahrain all the time!! LOL!

BTW Saks Bahrain, is one of the worste!

Reyadh Saks, Jeddah Saks, Dubai Saks is much muuch much Better; worth visiting if you ever passed by these 3 cities.

Saks is opening late this year in the Avenues.

Shucks! Connie. What a shame that " Alef" had to suspend publication!?

Would love to see a John Lewis, Ravissant or a Gallerie Lafayette open shop in Kuwait.

I love SAKS!- It's simply the best!! and the BAHRAIN store is soo cool!
You r right confashions, the shoe salon is the best. But i also liked the handbag section on level 2!- Amazing. SAKS BAHRAIN also has a Bridal store- i think its mostly VERA WANG. The store also has a head-band counter on the ground floor!! Oh by the way, the SALE is 50-70% (not on the jewelry section though!) Most of their stock was finished by the third day of the SALE!!

I wonder why is the "home brewn" fashion czar from Kuwait lying low these days?

the selection at Saks Bahrain might be limited but in impeccable taste, the merchandising is also superb, sales staff both friendly and approachable.

The sale just started recently, and come on- what's not to like about beautifully selected designer goods that are reduced?

the one thing that didn't impress me what the shoe selection, it was a bit drab and mono colored.. usually I divide my time between Kuwait & Bahrain so am at the malls pretty often... I can also be generous enough to inform you that Sephora has a habit of placing discontinued and past season limited edition makeup at 40 percent off (this is including hair products & face creams)

Saks Bahrain usually runs out of stock pretty fast, so if you see something that is of interest you better grab it fast.

"I was slightly disappointed by the small selection, maybe because all items were on sale? " I would like to point out that you have posted seven segments regarding the Othman sale - and let us just leave it at that

Sale or no sale, Al Othman Kuwait happens to have a better selection of barnds than Saks - Bahrain. That's why I featured items from their sale 7 times and will post even more about it whenever I see sth that I like. Of course this is my opinion and you have the right to agree or disagree... That's why we blog.

Gotta agree that Othman and Saks are not comparable.
If anyone knows slightly about fashion (as is FASHION) they would know that Saks bores *yawn*

Confashions: Is Al-Othman (Bahrain branch) better than Saks Fifth Avenue (Bahrain) because i'm going to Bahrain next week for a day and i don't think ill have the time to visit both stores. Al- Othman Bahrain is in Villa Moda, Moda Mall and Saks is in City Center- right?

Thank you.

Gosh, Yeah right! Saks Fifth Avenue Bahrain City Centre has also very accomodating and very friendly Sales staffs especially in their "Kids' Department". They give us a very good customer service with some complimentary drinks upon our request. Keep it up guys! Well my family and I feel we belong to their store. They inform us when they were having a sale and when they receive the new collections for the season. Likewise we received their card of appreciation whenever we purchase from them. That's extra service from the sales staffs. More Power to all of them. I ADMIT My family & I really LOVE SAKS FIFTH AVENUE - BAHRAIN CENTRE! =)

Chanel Dubai Cruise 2015 Collection

I can't remember if I shared my views about Chanel's Dubai Cruise 2015 Collection on my blog or not, but I thought I'd share with you some photos of the pieces on display now at Chanel Boutique in Kuwait, Prestige in the Avenues and Salhiya Complex. I wasn't too crazy about the clothes. However, I did like some of the bags which had pompoms and tassels on them, as well as the gigantic pearl clutch. I also loved the Moroccan-inspired pointy flats and the silver jewelry adorned with coins and crescents. Of course the shoes were sold out in my size and I wasn't so crazy about the patterned ones. I LOVED the flap bag with Pom Poms, but it was above my budget. Overall the collection felt more Moroccan than Dubai-an. I wish if they have incorporate more of the our gulf region's culture into the designs. Oh And I added to this post photos of Chanel's milk carton shaped python clutch bag embellished with a CC signature. They're not part of the Dubai colle

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?

To New Beginnings...

"What did this Corona crisis teach you?" my friend asked. My first thought was thing crisis has opened my eyes on the simple pleasures of life. My priorities have changed. And I feel every day is a new beginning. First of all, it made me realize how much I miss blogging. How simple and mentally satisfying it was to jolt down my thoughts on a field that I was very passionate about. I have to admit that I'm not as passionate now. Don't get me wrong, I still like fashion, but it's now on the bottom of my priorities list. I would like to blog about other things too that I feel much related to. I recently discovered that I do enjoy cooking. For the longest time, cooking to me was a nightmare.  This corona crisis has taught us that we can look forward to a new day with new possibilities to contribute or to help another, or to simply approach things differently, and most importantly to make the most of each day we have and share that goodness with others.
