My Fendi Findings

During my last visit to Fendi's Boutique at Salhiya Complex, I picked out some of my favourite items from Fendi's S/S fashion show. To my surprise, I actually found the spring/summer signature colored stones belt featured in most looks of the fashion show (Fendi Kuwait, I'm impressed!). Perfect to complete your bohemian chic Fendi look by wearing it over plain dresses and tops. Price tag? KD 929.

If you want to make a statement with your outfit, make those beautiful (AND comfortable) platforms your choice for formal summer nights outings. I don't usually go for the "copy-the-catwalk" look, but I think these metallic platforms have to be worn with Fendi attire to look as good as they do on the runway.

A true investment piece would be purchasing this "very-Carrie-Bradshaw-ish" black and white halterneck evening gown. The gown looks 1000 times better in real life than it does on this photo. I loved the circle details on the neckline, and it goes all the way to the back of the dress. Truly stunning and a definite head-turner. Cost? KD 2,000.

And finally, a true fashionista never has enough bags and clutches. This is the type of bag/clutch which you'll wear for years to come. What's cool about this bag is that the strap is removable. So it turns from a bag to a clutch with a simple snap. Wear this scarlet red oversized clutch with faded skinny jeans and peep-toe boots for a contrasting look. The bag comes in grey and black as well and it retails for KD 607.

Fendi boutique is located at Salhiya Complex, Kuwait City. For inquiries, please call (+965) 249-3985.

I was very disappointed with the Fendi Boutique, Kuwait this season. They had a snakeskin belt with four colored stones in the middle, like those seen on the show. It's price tag here was 523 KD, I checked the price in London 785 pounds..that is 688 pounds when you take off the VAT..the belt was also available at net a porter for 688 pounds..I told the saleslady in Fendi about the difference in price and she replied with "we are more expensive because we are the boutique!" lool I find that funny..wanted to complain but didn't know who to go to unfortuantely.

I don't think any high end franchise boutique in kuwait sells fakes. But, I wouldn't buy anything from here because they get the crappiest pieces of the season and are over-priced.

big pearls is right regarding ownership, VM has been replaced by Habchi & Chalhoub ( for comments & complaints please call & report the overmarkin ) I wonder if the chamber of commerse can be notified as well.

Anonymous: I would get the belt and foot the bill to daddy dearest.
However, in Kuwait many people take out loans just to go shopping

cute fendi post.. blah blah blah..

who am i kidding.. how could any fashionista in kuwait focus on fendi [with all due respect] when we're being deprived of the fashion bible-on-the-big-screen [aka the sex & the city movie]..

it's all i can think about these days.. I know I know.. I need to stop bitching,, book my ticket to london already,, catch the premiere and maybe catch up on some shopping..

but that's not the poiiiiint!! bottom line: i believe ther are enough fashion addicts in kuwait to earn us the right of watching s&tc @ the theater.. preferably sans the stupid-distracting arabic translation.. just a thought (more like a dream)..

I dont like the belt but even if I loved it I would not buy such an overpriced belt. I feel a sence of responsibility to boycott overpriced products, despite the fact that I can afford them. Plus, the older i get, the wiser I become with my spending. I feel a sence of style can easily be acheived on a smaller budget and in the way you walk and in the the way you smile. Bottom line, a kd1000 belt is a dumb purchase whatever your income in...

dear 'in my world everyone is a unicorn' hate to burst your bubble, the London premier was a few days ago- yes the fashion of S&C is the fifth character but it's a movie- not real life.

The two hour+ film won't be shown in local theaters due to graphic scenes & adult language - we have a set back in this country called censorship.

i'd love to burst 'your' bubble anonymous.. are you sitting down?? this movie is pretty darn close to real life in nyc..!

perhaps a couple of months in the city [a real city that is.. hint: kuwait city doesn't count] would serve a great reality check ;)

london premiere 'was' on the 12th [loved the sjp phillip treacy extravaganza!!] but the release isn't 'till the 28th.. so mark ur blackberry..!

umm aggressive much, no need to be hostile you said you wanted to catch the premier which I assumed would have been London since it's the first launch city ( NY is still around the corner ) And hun, I have worked and lived in major big cities, always exciting to move, dragging along 300 plus shoes is tricky though. seriously chill

agree that 1000KD no matter your income is just plain stupid and irresponsible.
9.5 out of 10 ladies spending a fortune on clothes do not earn the money themselves and possibly never will here but hey, anything to keep our mind busy as long as it has got to do with clothes and shopping and lots and lots of expensive stuff ......... pffffffft!
KUWAIT is CONSUMERISM at its best

I think i'll wait for topshop to create a cooler version of the fendi-inspired belt at a much more sensible price :)

Chanel Dubai Cruise 2015 Collection

I can't remember if I shared my views about Chanel's Dubai Cruise 2015 Collection on my blog or not, but I thought I'd share with you some photos of the pieces on display now at Chanel Boutique in Kuwait, Prestige in the Avenues and Salhiya Complex. I wasn't too crazy about the clothes. However, I did like some of the bags which had pompoms and tassels on them, as well as the gigantic pearl clutch. I also loved the Moroccan-inspired pointy flats and the silver jewelry adorned with coins and crescents. Of course the shoes were sold out in my size and I wasn't so crazy about the patterned ones. I LOVED the flap bag with Pom Poms, but it was above my budget. Overall the collection felt more Moroccan than Dubai-an. I wish if they have incorporate more of the our gulf region's culture into the designs. Oh And I added to this post photos of Chanel's milk carton shaped python clutch bag embellished with a CC signature. They're not part of the Dubai colle

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?

To New Beginnings...

"What did this Corona crisis teach you?" my friend asked. My first thought was thing crisis has opened my eyes on the simple pleasures of life. My priorities have changed. And I feel every day is a new beginning. First of all, it made me realize how much I miss blogging. How simple and mentally satisfying it was to jolt down my thoughts on a field that I was very passionate about. I have to admit that I'm not as passionate now. Don't get me wrong, I still like fashion, but it's now on the bottom of my priorities list. I would like to blog about other things too that I feel much related to. I recently discovered that I do enjoy cooking. For the longest time, cooking to me was a nightmare.  This corona crisis has taught us that we can look forward to a new day with new possibilities to contribute or to help another, or to simply approach things differently, and most importantly to make the most of each day we have and share that goodness with others.
