You're not Oscar De La Renta nor Marchesa

If you’re a local fashion designer and you were flipping through the pages of Vogue and found out that there’s a new designer in town called Marchesa (Not news to you I know). And you suddenly decided to carbon copy the designer’s creation because “You know.. coz people in Kuwait think Marchesa is a new pudding recipe”. Puuuhleeease don’t assume you’re going to be a hit and may cause a threat to Oscar De La Renta.

I found this reportage in Al-Qabas the other day of a Kuwaiti Female designer and I was shocked to see that in one of her designs she actually copied JLo’s Marchesa gown, the one with gem strings adorning her chest.

If you can't come up with a creative creation. Then it’s a sign from God that being a designer is just not meant for you.

MY GOD!!! That is why I dont like to buy from them! First they are over-priced and secondly.. I would rather spend that money on a known brand name/designer...

hehehe, nice post, i never buy any thing that is designed by a designer in Kuwait.

Exactly! Some of them are sooo full of themselves! On what basis do they charge us that much for something locally made using cheap labor and cheap material!

Hehe good one!! I totally agree. That, alone insults my fashion intelligence. Do these people not know that we read magazines, fashion blogs, travel and shop?! I'm so glad you brought it up!! I'm sick of people here claiming to be fashionistas with ZERO originality!

her model is ugly and the dress makes her look like a bowling ball!

You may not be able to look as good as Jennifer Lopez. But at least your dog can.

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.
