Dear Confashion: Looking for Chic Albums

Q: Do you know where I can find nice photo albums here in Kuwait? I'm looking for an album to store all my honeymoon pictures in, so it has to be a bit big ;). I also want an album were thepictures slip in, not were I have to stick them on.
A: Honestly? I don't recall a place in Kuwait that sells really nice and chic looking photo albums.  My friend says Stephanie and Al Ussaimi have a nice selection but I haven't seen them personally. Have you tried searching online? Try kolo.comjohnlewis.com, and www.whsmith.co.uk.

I hope my readers can help us with this one. Any recommendations please? Much appreciated. :)

Unfortunately I have been facing the same delimma. For 5 years my honeymoon pictures have been sitting there in a box waiting for the perfect album. I've searched everywhere in Kuwait. I hate stuffy old style ones used by the photographers. I wanted modern chic ones. I searched everywhere even abroad. Only in 2008 did I find something that would work for me in paperchase UK (also available in DUbai Mall)

Its plain white plastic photo album that though doesn't sound very much but is very very modern. It comes in sizes from 12 pictures to 250 pictures. I bought a bunch and categoriezed many of my pictures there. I like how they are modern and how they fit with everything and are timeless.

As a matter of fact I think I will do a post about them... that's a good idea !

I think this can be categorized under "Good Business Opportunity" because I do know for a fact that a lot of my friends face the same problem ;)

Looking forward to your post :)

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.

Magical Mode

As anyone who regularly reads Confashions may know, there are some designers I’ve been obsessed with for quite some time: one is the genius Erdem , the other is Nicholas Kirkwood , and Pierre Hardy . And because their designs are somehow easily accessible online and offline, I had the pleasure of featuring some of their creations and showing them the love they deserve. That said, there is one designer I’ve been particularly smitten with for quite some time. He has always been on the top of my favorite designers list ever since I was introduced to his designs by my fabulous fellow fashionisto Adnan Z Manjal   a couple of years back : Saudi designer Mohammed Ashi . I always wished I featured him more. I couldn’t because his pieces are very exclusive and as far as I know not stocked anywhere here. This clearly isn't just another post on my obvious love for Mohammed Ashi’s designs or the quality of his clothes as I have done that previously. Ashi simply deserves his very own epic p...

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?
