yeah a woman still wouldn't look 'chic' with a basketball sized bulge around her waist.

news flash, women who are pregnant shouldn't care about how they look like.

and you would think a woman about to become a mother would think past such trivial, narcissistic things or at least for 9 months.

my 2 fils.

Oh Confashions you're a lifesaver! My sister just found out that she has a bun in the oven. This will be perfect for her!

Syler - Excuse you! Just because a woman is pregnant is no excuse for her not to take care of herself. I'd hardly call good grooming, narcissistic or trivial. If you don't take care of your appearance, one would say you might have low self-esteem.

my shiny, sparkly, recently-minted 2 fils ;)

Quite the contrary, one who does not care about what others think of him/her is far from having low self esteem.

It's those who do that fear the criticizing eyes of others and thus have no 'self' esteem.

my smudgy, dirty, old and yet confident 2 fils.

Ok. Straight up. Either you are hella' ugly which is why you don't take care of your appearance which explains your "why bother" attitude or you sir are a liar. Which is it?

I laughed honestly.

I've grown my beard many times and I've never trimmed them at the barber or syled them or did that gay shit I see other guys do, nasayt isma where they take hot wax and a thread.

I've had a lion's mane at one point, uhh what else...

Yeah I just don't care, maybe I am ugly and that's why women don't approach me.

So by your standards, you must be 'hella' hot if you take so much time out of your day to fix yourself up.

And also, even as a guy who knows nothing about fashion, I know that it was the carefree attitude of the 70's (ie hippies) that inspired so many of the styles women adore today.

In closing, madam, you are one narcissistic woman.

@ Miss Lulu: amen!

@ Sylar: why do you care what pregnant women choose to wear, sweety?

I simply wish to maintain a fragment of modesty in something I consider to being one of the pinnacles of happiness, motherhood.

Also how bizarre and sick would it to see a mother with a huge belly dressing up and having guys check her out?

It wouldn't be the mens' fault because the woman would still retain her facial beauty and the clothes would aid in concealing her belly which isn't outright horrid sight.

Being pregnant is supposed to expose your human, maternal side and there is beauty in appearing what today's generation thanks to Westernization as 'unsightly'.

Of course I could be looking too much into the whole thing but that's what I do, think and question.

My urge to be more pious might be a factor as well, and I would think this would be the same for everyone but the force in 'Ugly Betty' is strong.

Dear Sylar,

We all have opions and that doesnt mean your is right or wrong, but scolding woman in general for looking after themselves however they please is also very egoistic to say. I agree that beauty is not everything, but why is it wrong to look after yourself, that doesnt make you a bad person...whats inside the character of a person does.
I have 2 beautiful boys and loved dressing up when I was pregnant and still do, but that doesnt make me a bad person or not have friends that are different, on the contrary! I think anyone will agree, Beauty is on the inside but alot of us like to look good on the outside too:)

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?

Magical Mode

As anyone who regularly reads Confashions may know, there are some designers I’ve been obsessed with for quite some time: one is the genius Erdem , the other is Nicholas Kirkwood , and Pierre Hardy . And because their designs are somehow easily accessible online and offline, I had the pleasure of featuring some of their creations and showing them the love they deserve. That said, there is one designer I’ve been particularly smitten with for quite some time. He has always been on the top of my favorite designers list ever since I was introduced to his designs by my fabulous fellow fashionisto Adnan Z Manjal   a couple of years back : Saudi designer Mohammed Ashi . I always wished I featured him more. I couldn’t because his pieces are very exclusive and as far as I know not stocked anywhere here. This clearly isn't just another post on my obvious love for Mohammed Ashi’s designs or the quality of his clothes as I have done that previously. Ashi simply deserves his very own epic p...

To New Beginnings...

"What did this Corona crisis teach you?" my friend asked. My first thought was thing crisis has opened my eyes on the simple pleasures of life. My priorities have changed. And I feel every day is a new beginning. First of all, it made me realize how much I miss blogging. How simple and mentally satisfying it was to jolt down my thoughts on a field that I was very passionate about. I have to admit that I'm not as passionate now. Don't get me wrong, I still like fashion, but it's now on the bottom of my priorities list. I would like to blog about other things too that I feel much related to. I recently discovered that I do enjoy cooking. For the longest time, cooking to me was a nightmare.  This corona crisis has taught us that we can look forward to a new day with new possibilities to contribute or to help another, or to simply approach things differently, and most importantly to make the most of each day we have and share that goodness with others.
