Confashion, you should totally do it (if you haven't done it already)...

PS: if the onebrand you're refering to is Herve Leger, that is tricky.

@Anonymous
All you have to do view Hervé Léger Fall 2009/2010 collection on www.style.com and select 6 looks which you think Al Othman team would buy. The winner will get a special treat from Al Othman.

Whatever the treat is, I think it's fun to try it out.

So you win the competition by making picks as close as possible to what the Alothman buyers actually picked? I don't think that anyone deserves an award for supporting what the buyers already decided. You deserve a reward if you pick something that CUSTOMERS PICKED. Here’s my suggestion:
Alothman should specify a category (dresses, tops, shoes) and competitors should make one pick from this category from a selection of designers that AlOthman usually works. So let’s say they say you have to pick a top from the new season from the following designers: Oscar de La Renta, Temperly, Mathew Williamson, etc. Now let’s say I pick an Oscar De La Renta top and You pick a Mathew Williamson top and we’re the only two competitors. Well they bring samples of these tops in and put them on display for the competition and let’s say my Oscar top gets a lot of customers ordering from it while yours gets less orders – then I win a KD 200 voucher for Alothman. Something like that! Makes sense? All I’m saying is that I should get rewarded for having an eye for what CUSTOMERS want and not what the buyers have already chosen.

Dear 1001 nights
Thank you for your insightful comment. We will definitely take your suggestions into account when we prepare for future events.
With Regards to the "Fashion Buyer" questionnaire, I would like to assure you that the selection has not yet been made by the AlOthman Buying team, this will be done in March during the Paris Fashion week.
On the same note, any selection that the buyers will make is obviously based on what the customer would like and buy and the reason why we came up with this little event is to directly interact with our customers.
Regards to all and thank you for your interest

AlOthman, I'm sorry I thought that the buyers will select the winner based on her picking the SIX looks that they favored most out of the 34? At any rate, you have great buyers and your selection of evening gowns and shoes (especially Bruno Frisoni!) is absolutely wonderful. I just thought you should make us gals work a little harder for the reward and give us more room for creativity ;)

(Also, from a financial aspect I figured that some people might just order in a product to support their friend in the competition which should give in a nice and rather quick return for the store.)

Here's hoping Villa Moda and Al Ostoura take an improvised cue from the Othman experiment

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?

To New Beginnings...

"What did this Corona crisis teach you?" my friend asked. My first thought was thing crisis has opened my eyes on the simple pleasures of life. My priorities have changed. And I feel every day is a new beginning. First of all, it made me realize how much I miss blogging. How simple and mentally satisfying it was to jolt down my thoughts on a field that I was very passionate about. I have to admit that I'm not as passionate now. Don't get me wrong, I still like fashion, but it's now on the bottom of my priorities list. I would like to blog about other things too that I feel much related to. I recently discovered that I do enjoy cooking. For the longest time, cooking to me was a nightmare.  This corona crisis has taught us that we can look forward to a new day with new possibilities to contribute or to help another, or to simply approach things differently, and most importantly to make the most of each day we have and share that goodness with others.
