Pink - our schools in kuwait are in dire need of fix up and our system needs straightening out. Why dont you suggest creating an organization that will help with that.

As for the schools in Kenya that I visited, they are just a simple hut. One book to 5 children. Broken chairs. Most of them are orphans and asked us for a snack. Those with sponsors had a dish in their hand, and those without sponsors looked on hungrily.

Do you still think we should focus on prettying up our schools and getting newer books. If so, please lend a helping hand to our fellow people in kuwait and contact me on this blog and I will help you too.

With relation to the above message, I am not linked to the committee of Leadership Inc but I think they are doing a great job. I was not as socially aware as them when I was in high school and I would like to focus on encouraging them.

Isn't it a little corny their leaving out Kuwait's First Lady of Style - Ms. Nejoud Boodai from this fashion show?

I heard they approached nejoud and were waiting her reply :)

Hey, what's with Villa Moda and Samsaara ?! Don't they want in too ??
VM should organize fashion shows more oftener say, every season and this is by order. They could drive their high net worth patrons ( and equaly, not so high net worth patrons) in humvee stretch limos to strawberry farms outside Wafra where models upon models would be seen strutting the season's latest on ramps inside airconditioned tents while front rowers would enjoy their strawberry and cream alongside truffles and date champagne and yes, some incredible eye candy. It's such a shame they have the wherewithal and the will to host mega fashion events in Kuwait and yet, something doesn't give.
On a completely different wavelength, KU ought to think about getting VM to commisson regional biggies such as Ellie Saab, George Hobeika or Haya Al Houti to design uniforms for their inflight crew : will provide much needed respite to the Houses of Balenciaga, Nina Ricci and Jean Patou while lending a certain Kuwaitiah feel to the crew uniforms. How does silk and linen kaftans sound like for starters?

Reply to Zaki:

dear boy, most women are very particular about sharing their ride, second, there are no professional models in Kuwait, therefore the company would have to hire them from Dubai ( we are talking visa approval, accommodations, extra out of town pay) if you know where champagne is available kindly do dish.

with regard to the uniforms, longevity is not a habit for VM staff, you could take measurements & have an outfit produced only to have the employee depart.

what's the eye candy? the clothes or girls?

SHINO in kuwait, Kuwait is not a poor country, FIXING SCHOOLS does not need charity it needs the Parliment to get their priorities right. KUWAITIS we should grow up, and there are people that exist other than the us kuwaity people. APPARETNLY MAntoob MIN RACISM and attention. WHEN the word charity comes in mind KUWAIT is the last place i want to give my money to, people living in kuwait who are not kuwati ok, BUT giving money to a wealthy country is not what i had in mind. AND if kuwait wants money its about time TO TAX the rich to fix this so called hospitals. Seriously get out of the tiny box, and see other people, and how thier living. YEAH i am against this charity in kuwait, cause people come out anD SAY why WHY WHY outside kuwait.

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?

To New Beginnings...

"What did this Corona crisis teach you?" my friend asked. My first thought was thing crisis has opened my eyes on the simple pleasures of life. My priorities have changed. And I feel every day is a new beginning. First of all, it made me realize how much I miss blogging. How simple and mentally satisfying it was to jolt down my thoughts on a field that I was very passionate about. I have to admit that I'm not as passionate now. Don't get me wrong, I still like fashion, but it's now on the bottom of my priorities list. I would like to blog about other things too that I feel much related to. I recently discovered that I do enjoy cooking. For the longest time, cooking to me was a nightmare.  This corona crisis has taught us that we can look forward to a new day with new possibilities to contribute or to help another, or to simply approach things differently, and most importantly to make the most of each day we have and share that goodness with others.
