And The Chaos Begins...

Villa Moda's Seasonal Sale has to be the craziest shopping day of the year. I love the thrill of spreading the word to my close fashionistas about the sale and getting a good deal, but queuing in line for hours and fighting over items is not my thing. My fashionable sources told me that people lined up outside the store around 9:30 AM even though doors open at 10AM. Girls were holding 6-7 Prada bags and 4 pairs of Gucci shoes to buy, it takes 45 minutes to an hour to add an item to your VM's card purchase and pay your bill, some women were extremely rude to staff and fellow shoppers. That is so surreal! I can't stand the attitude, the noise, the general craziness of it all. And that is why I avoid those sales on their first day.

I want to share with you couple of these crazy photos that I received from my lovely readers by e-mail.

Delly was nice enough to send us the above photo which she took before the doors open at 9:40am. I guess the weather was not an issue here.

Another fabulous reader sent us the other 2 photos posted here. One was taken outside Gucci and the other outside Miu Miu. You can clearly see how long and crowded the lines were.

I think Villa Moda needs to be more organized and maybe hire more staff to control the situation and help out with the fitting, sizes, payments... etc.

If you have any photos to share, please do send them to confashion@hotmail.com.

I was so unhappy today.

I went early cuz i wanted dibbs on some gucci stilettos....i was the first one there....

I was disappointed with the selection, but i found a nice pair, put it on....it was my size!

Asked for the other pair...

THEY COULDNT FIND IT!

They took my number and said they were gonna call back.

YEAH RIGHT THEY WILL.

I found NOTHING worth buying at all, the winter sale is always better than the summer sale. Last one was really good.

Im so unlucky when it comes to the VM sale.

I'M TOTALLY A NON-VILLA MODA SALE CUSTOMER SINCE I ALWAYS KNOW THAT THE "BEST" PIECES ARE ALWAYS SOLD OUT BEFORE IT HITS THE SALE SEASON.

SO, I THINK WHOEVER WANTS SOMETHING SPECIFIC,BETTER BUY IT WHEN IT HITS THE SHOPFLOOR.

I'M HAPPY THAT I GOT ALL THE FASHION SHOW KEY PIECES FROM PRADA AND THE FLOWER HEELS SHOES. ALSO, I WAS LUCKY THIS SEASON WITH GUCCI, MARNI AND DOLCE&GABBANA.

EVEN I MANAGED TO GET "ALL" MY MANOLO BLAHNIK STILLETTO'S I CAN EVEN COMPETE NOW WITH SARAH JESSICA PARKER IN HER NEW "SEX AND THE CITY" MOVIE !!

THE BEST KEPT SECRET IS TO BE ONE OF THE VILLA MODA "VIP CUSTOMERS" AND GET THEIR VALUED "20% OFF" CARD AND ENJOY SHOPPING DOWN THERE WITHOUT THE HASSLE AND THE CROWD.

SHOPPING TO ME NEEDS TO BE IN A RELAXED ENVIRONMENT AND NOT IN A RUSH.

THANK YOU ALL FOR THESE PICTURES AND I WISH THIS WAS COVERED BY AL-WATAN AND AL-RAI TV SINCE IT IS A MUCH MORE INTERESTING PIECE OF NEWS THAT OUR POLICITS!!

I went today for the first time and frankly I had a great time.

I am not sure why everyone thinks they are going to get their 50% off purchases handed to them on a silver platter :P

I actually thought it was going to be much worse than it was. I actually find shopping on Oxford street much much worse.

It was crowded, and the queues took ages, but everyone was so dressed up, and with all the fashion pieces flying everywhere it was like jumping into a 3 month old Vogue mag head first.

What annoyed me most was people huffing and puffing next to me annoyed at waiting, and looking at me to share their misery, whilst cutting into my mesmerization and pride at all the young fashionistas.

Had a fab time - what a thrill - exhausting to say the least but you just had to giggle. Confashions, not only were customers rude, all girls in Miumiu at 10.15 felt like school girls getting a telling off by the twit manager - he was very rude and it was actually their fault that there was no system or queue - they should have set up a system before they opened the doors. Anyway, i left, a happy fashionista after 5 hours (what better way to spend a dusty, windy hot day in kuwait) with shoes and bags to die for! If anyone has ever been to harrods or harvey nichols sales - they are much worse. Enjoy!

last anonymous: tara 10 bags is really not a lot. netaporter sell hundreds of Chloe bags in less than a week, how can you say they are not aunthentic?
anyhoo, i LOVE VM sales, i just didnt go yesterday cause i didnt want to buy anything (fattie). the 3aj2a and craziness is the BEST. and its so not true ina the good stuff get taken first. This is especially true since most "cuta" girls and "lazim "MAARKA" omahat" ma 3indohom thouq and so you are left with all the weird, fun really design-heavy stuff that i love untouched!! It just clears up all the crystal-studded, logo-plagued carp!
Ya3ni in the warehouse you find oxblood fox-fur roadkill stoles alongside McQueen corset dresses and crazy feathery, furry and fabric-wrapped accessories from like, 4-year old Prada. Its a thrill-shopper's fantasy!!

Not everything Villa Moda sells is authentic, that's why it was closed down in Qatar. OO fog kil hatha, they are way overpriced. I honestly do not like their services, liars, overpriced, very possibly fake, and one day you buy a bag for 600 the next day it's for 300. Oo ba3dain ey3awirny galbi, millions of starving people in the world and kilhamna here is to snatch the latest prada bag oo gucci shoes. For once I would love to see our youth involved in something not entirely superficial

Omg Miu miu was a disaster! It's the size of a bathroom and there were maybe thirty people! Everyone was shoving and pushing and claiming they were there for 4 hours. It was only 11:00 and the doors opened at 10:00. I and the girl next to me were the only ones quiet and waiting our turn to buy but one clutch and everyone else was screaming and shouting at the employees chinhom 7asharat. I actually went to vm a few days earlier so i'd know exactly what i want to get and get them and get out .. unfortunately the gorgeous prada gold chain belt/necklace got carried over. i still desperately want it. i do agree that i sometimes feel brands in kuwait do replicate their products and overprice them, but who care? i just never want to find out.
p.s. i like your blog :)

what's the point of buying something old ? when you can afford a new one!
they are clearly getting rid of the spring summer stuff to make way for the pre-winter and autumn winter next month !!!
i never went to a sale n i don't think i will mix up and fight like it's war over some low priced bag! thank God

first of I've never bought anything from villa moda or been to one of their sales since imo everything is waaay overpriced.
but on the day of the sale my friend wanted to go since she wanted this Miu Miu bag (I thought I might score something as well, what have I got to lose, right?) I wanted to see how the craziness actually is since I've heard about it but never saw it.
So we went there 11-ish and my friend went to Miu Miu and I went to check out Bottega Veneta to see what they got.. so then I go in and TAADAAA awaits the bag I've been eyeing for some time now sitting untouched so I graped it and a wallet too. I've always wanted a Bottega Veneta something but I'm a student and I couldn't afford it but heck I really got lucky that day, and so did my friend since she got the bag she's been lusting after for months. so all in all it turned out to be a quite good day. I'd say that Gucci was the most crowded of them all, followed by Prada and Miu Miu
I also wanted to get some Manolos but o well maybe next time

Chanel Dubai Cruise 2015 Collection

I can't remember if I shared my views about Chanel's Dubai Cruise 2015 Collection on my blog or not, but I thought I'd share with you some photos of the pieces on display now at Chanel Boutique in Kuwait, Prestige in the Avenues and Salhiya Complex. I wasn't too crazy about the clothes. However, I did like some of the bags which had pompoms and tassels on them, as well as the gigantic pearl clutch. I also loved the Moroccan-inspired pointy flats and the silver jewelry adorned with coins and crescents. Of course the shoes were sold out in my size and I wasn't so crazy about the patterned ones. I LOVED the flap bag with Pom Poms, but it was above my budget. Overall the collection felt more Moroccan than Dubai-an. I wish if they have incorporate more of the our gulf region's culture into the designs. Oh And I added to this post photos of Chanel's milk carton shaped python clutch bag embellished with a CC signature. They're not part of the Dubai colle

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?

To New Beginnings...

"What did this Corona crisis teach you?" my friend asked. My first thought was thing crisis has opened my eyes on the simple pleasures of life. My priorities have changed. And I feel every day is a new beginning. First of all, it made me realize how much I miss blogging. How simple and mentally satisfying it was to jolt down my thoughts on a field that I was very passionate about. I have to admit that I'm not as passionate now. Don't get me wrong, I still like fashion, but it's now on the bottom of my priorities list. I would like to blog about other things too that I feel much related to. I recently discovered that I do enjoy cooking. For the longest time, cooking to me was a nightmare.  This corona crisis has taught us that we can look forward to a new day with new possibilities to contribute or to help another, or to simply approach things differently, and most importantly to make the most of each day we have and share that goodness with others.
