Outfit of the Day

I love David Szeto . No one can argue the mastery of his creativity in presenting classic practical pieces in a modern and unique way and his talent of using ruched details in his designs. I remember I bought my first David Szeto piece maybe 8 years ago from AlOthman . It was a blush-pink ruched top and I still have it treasured in my closet! Obviously 2-years rule does not apply to this piece (the 2-years rule is to get rid of clothes that you haven't worn in two years). I must wear it more often.. The reason why I mentioned David Szeto is because last season I bought these volume structured-like shorts by the Canadian-born/Paris-based designer. They were (and still are) my summer staple. The other day I paired them with a plain white Clover Canyon top with golden foil-like details (so unlike Clover Canyon , right?!), and my Liberty London's Iphis Marlborough tote bag.

Outfit of the Day

I was scanning through AlOthman Boutique when my dear friend pointed out that my outfit colors match those of the displayed hats, which in blogesphere world it translates to "Hey! Here is the perfect setting to take a snap of my OOTD!!". I was wearing a bohemian chic dress by a brand called Carolina K , which I bought from Melange boutique , located at Burj Jassim. You can also find it online here , and paired it with my Nicholas Kirkwood for Erdem gladiator sandals. The beauty of these gladiator sandals is that they transform in a snap from a low, casual style to a tall, boot-like silhouette. Two looks for the price of one!And finally topped the look off with Federica Moretti handmade hat.

Confashions Featured in Style.com Arabia

I just found out that last March I have been featured in Style.com Arabia as part of their Faces of Fashion feature, where they listed 20 of the best fashion instagram accounts from the Arab world. Thank you so much for your kind words and support! I'm honored! One slight typo though, my family name  is Al Suwaiti not Al Suwaidi. :)

Bags at a Glance

Here's a quick review of some of the handbags that caught my attention the other day while shopping at Prestige, in the Avenues. Loving the color combo! I say yes to these timeless Chanel shoulder bags. Next.... Chanel bag... cute? Very!! Worth the investment? KD 990 for a fabric bag which hardly fits my junk? No thank you. Maybe it's best to invest in something of value like the ones here . Another drool-worthy bag! The matryoshka bag of the season: Prada's Inside Bag. I'm still debating whether I should go for it or not. I love the color, the concept, and the feel of the leather it self! Keeping this one on my wish list for now. The cutest mini monster bag charms by Fendi Cute! But I would only buy thisstyle if it was on sale... for 50% off no less!

Here Comes The Hotstepper

Went shoe shopping the other day, my favorite kind of shopping, and found an assortment of shoes that ticked all the right boxes in my visual check-list: Stylish? Check. Comfy? Check. Styles not overly endorsed by not-so-super-instagrammers-who-think-they-are-super and international fashion magazines? (for some reason that's a turn-off for me) CHECK! Manolos , Louboutins , and Fendi . I would so wear the styles featured here in the order shown too, listed by preference. And they're all available in their respective brand boutiques in Prestige, the Avenues.

If only furniture shopping was that easy and affordable...

I completely forgot sharing these photos which I took during my stay in London last month of Harrods' Furniture Department . This section boasts a massive selection of over 70 home furniture brands and the finest interiors to suit various styles and design tastes ranging from the ornately traditional to the ultra-modern and contemporary. While walking through Harrods' Furniture Department, I was day dreaming and imagining shipping 8 bronze chandeliers back home for a fraction of a price (sigh!). I took some photos for inspiration since I'm currently decorating my home. I didn't even bother to check the price tags as I know for a fact they'd cost an arm and a leg. Appreciating beauty is free of charge, so I'll stick to that for now. You can view more selection online here .

Céline Pre Falling in Love

I am 100% dedicated Céline fan (and no this is not a sponsored or paid post, thank you). I could buy, use, and abuse almost all of its merchandise... If I had the spare money of course! I recently passed by the boutique to check out their pre-fall collection. It still amazes me how enthusiastic I get when I see Céline's regulars like the luggage bag and the box bag. Every season I tell myself I'm over the bag, but come new season, and I'm dragged again to that obsession hole. When the Céline box bag hit the scene, it quickly reached "It-bag" status. The shoulder/cross bag became highly coveted and highly carried by street style icons. To this day, I still find this box so appealing and classy! And the pre-fall designs offer new drool-worthy variations, like the burned dark chocolate one with the contrasting yellow stitching and the one with the exotic skin in a beautiful mustardy shade. The shoes? I oddly fell in love with the white leather square-toe pair ...
