Who Let the Dogs Out

I'm not a huge fan of dogs. No matter how big/small they are or how cute/not-so-cute they look. They make me nervous, I just can never tell if they're just excited or about to bite me. That said, I wouldn't mind getting a Rottweiler.... a Givenchy Rottweiler to be exact. I spotted the clutch at this event and have been looking for it ever since but unfortunately it is sold out everywhere. Givenchy's Rottweiler-print sleeveless tee is also sold out. BUT I did find the Rottweiler-print cotton-jersey t-shirt at the men's section of Givenchy boutique, located at 360 Mall.  Priced at KD 89, it's a fun way to give your casual and weekend looks some chic bite . This cotton-jersey piece is a great for layering especially now that the weather is unpredictable. Wear it under a leather bomber jacket or sharply tailored blazer with cropped jeans or leather leggings or boyfriend-cut jeans.

Mélange Makes a Statement

I haven't been to Mélange boutique for quite sometime, so when I visited it a couple of days back, I was pleasantly surprised by the level in which Mélange boutique has started to excel in terms of the selection of statement accessories on display. Take for example this Citrine by the Stones gold hammered bib necklace. I know it will work hard for me all coming seasons. It was priced at KD 95, and the funny thing was that just a couple of days ago I spotted the same necklace at a different multi-brand boutique and it was selling for KD 120, I was thiiiiiis close to buy it, but luckily for me, I changed my mind last minute. Check out the other post-worthy pieces currently on display at Mélange boutique . Mélange boutique   is located at 360 Mall in South Surra. For their latest updated please click here . Event: Dress Code at CAP Kuwait

I passed by Dress Code Project the other day, an art exhibition hosted by The Contemporary Art Platform (CAP) and curated by Amal Makkawi and Martina Corgnati. They showcased the works of twelve artists hailing from Algeria to Pakistan and from Turkey to Egypt to the Emirates, via Syria, Lebanon and Iraq. It was interesting to see how the artists used various techniques and forms of expression to create unwearable dresses with a hidden message, think collage, multimedia, photography, industrial material, and installations. Featured here are some of the dresses that caught my attention. The Contemporary Art Platform is located at Life Center (Industrial Shuwaikh, Block 2, Street 28, Top floor). The same building as Eureka/Midas. The exhibition will be on until 21st December. Can you imagine the time and effort it took to create the dresses shown in the photos above and below? Amazing. A Visit to Prada Boutique in Kuwait

A few days ago Prada opened a new boutique in Kuwait City at 360 Mall. The boutique offers the women's clothing, bags, accessories and footwear collections and the men’s luggage and accessories collections. I passed by the boutique a few days ago and I must say that interior wise, the place looked divine, merchandise was neatly and well presented. The boutique is divided in two areas: the first dedicated to women’s bags and accessories with chequered black and white marble flooring, and elegant display niches on the walls covered in green fabric. The second is dedicated to bags and footwear. The clothes, instead, are found in a more “intimate” area . These two spaces are connected by a walkway dedicated entirely to men’s leathergoods. That said, I was slightly disappointed that I didn't see the runway handbags and shoes of A/W 2012 collection, you know the ones with flower detail? I'm not sure if they were sold out already because I went a day after the official op...

Khaleda and Fahad Like You've Never Seen Them Before

Dressed in their over-the-top eccentric fashion, eye-catching outfits, and edgy and dramatic accessories, Bahraini fashion designer Khaleda Rajab and Kuwaiti shoes and bags designer Fahad Al Marzouq are one of those public figures who would be hard not to recognize on a casual day (or any day for that matter).  So I decided to feature them on my blog like you have never seen them before, dressed in classic and elegant pieces all available at Harvey Nichols Kuwait .  To my surprise (and what a good surprise it was), the lovely and super friendly designers Khaleda and Fahad agreed to go with my makeover! They ripped up their rule-book of fashion for the shoot and let down their guard, and allowed me to style them in pieces they would never wear. Imagine no knuckle rings, no avant-garde pieces (which I love), and no skulls. As much as I love how they embrace their own personal style and how they carry themselves, I thought it would be interesting to see ...

Little Miss Sunshine

A few days back I instagramed a close-up photo of the incinerate and dazzling embellishment used on Gucci's yellow (one of my fave colors) shift dress from the brand's Cruise 2013 collection. Unfortunately it was a "sample size" so even if I starved myself for weeks I couldn't possibly fit in. But I just couldn't get over how beautiful the dress looked Then two days later I spotted the same dress featured in a fashion editorial in Vogue (or was it Elle?) magazine, and both models were wearing cocktail dresses, one of which was the yellow one, from Gucci's Cruise collection and looked even more stunning. This is probably the first time I fall head over heals in love with a pret-a-porter piece by Gucci . Yes, they do design amazing basics, shoes, and handbags. But I don't recall ever lusting over a piece as much as I do now.  The dress is not available to purchase in store yet (or at least not in Kuwait yet), but it will be hopefully sometime ...
