The return of the converse

When traveling, I like checking out what other fashionistas are wearing to get a feel of how trends work in other cultures. During a recent trip I was inspired by what I saw on the streets. The converse sneakers are back with a vengeance. Hollywood gave Converse sneakers a boost. Celebes including Nicole Richie, Amy Winehouse, and Kirsten Dunst have been sporting Converse.

To avoid looking like you’ve just came out from Seventeen magazine issued in the early 80’s, pair your Converse with skinny jeans, rock/icon tee and studded belt – or team them with a cute summer dress.

So time to replace your raggedy Puma’s with a pair of good ol’ converse sneakers. You can find a small collection at the Footlocker at Marina & the Avenues but most of them were high-tops, I prefer lo-top converse. Or you can shop online at Zappos.com or converse.com.

I dont wanna limit my option to converse! There are a lot of good low-top sneakers... Chucks are the most popular line of converse.. some people call'em all stars...

I have seen some in other brands (other than converse) like Juicy Couture.. a slip-on sneakers, which I also like.

Also Paul Smith for men.. didnt see any for women and I am not sure if they have'em for women!

I like them... never gave up on them. I am glad they're back :-)

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.

Chanel Bags on Discount?!

If you thought that getting a cheap Chanel bag that's within your budget is something too far fetched, then think again. You'll be surprised to know that Chanel's boutique located at Salhiya Complex is currently selling several bags, that are a maximum 1 or 2 seasons old, on discount . And we're not talking about a 2 or 5% discount here, these bags are 50% off their original price! For some reason I always thought that Chanel bags never go on sale. But I guess the printed ones or the ones that are made out of the collection's main fabric have to go on sale. Anyways, I managed to take photos of these 2 beauties. What I love about those bags is that they're a classic shape that never goes out of style, their print is young and refreshing, plus they're quilted. I think they could be a collector's item. Both bags featured here are sold for approximately KD 250 .
