Walking Down Sloane Street

A visit to London wouldn't be complete without a quick walk down Sloane Street, after scanning Harvey Nichols that is. Honestly though, I enjoy window shopping more in this area as each window display takes you into a complete new creative journey. This year I was slightly disappointed because not even 50% of the high-end brands boutique had a catchy window. It could be that Harvey Nichols ruined it for all since it upped its ante. Anyhow, I did like a couple of details on the window display, like the mint green beaded skirt from Miu Miu , the Fendi fur coat, and, and the artistic paper designs for Hermes . Scroll down to get a better look.

Zero + Maria Cornejo Celebrates 15 Year Anniversary

When I first heard the news of Zero + Maria Cornejo's capsule collection to celebrate its 15 years anniversary, I suddenly realized that I never bought or owned any piece from this brand, not because I don't like it, I appreciate its timeless and elegant appeal, and in fact I always recommend it to my sister who wears a hijab as I find the brand's shapes and silhouettes ideal for her. The beauty of  Zero + Maria Cornejo's   designs is that they're ageless and can be worn for years to come. So it's only natural for the designer to go back to the brand's archive and selection pieces designed years ago and re-introduce them again this season.  To celebrate the milestone, the designer has asked fifteen of the brand’s closest artist clients and friends, including Tilda Swinton، Kara Walker، and Cat Power to name a few, to select a favorite piece of clothing from their Zero wardrobes collected over the years. These pieces, including one in Zero + Maria C...

Where Do You Think Chanel's Cruise Collection Will be Presented in Dubai?

Unless you've been living under a rock or instagramless, you'd probably know by now that  Chanel 's  next Cruise collection will be held in none other than one of my favorite cities in the world, Dubai.  Since 2000,  Chanel 's  collections have been travelling around the world from Paris to New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Venice, Saint Tropez, Cap d'Antibes, Versailles and Singapore. A futuristic megalopolis of the 21st century, the ever developing Emirate of Dubai is a crossroads of civilisations between Europe and Asia. This dynamic and multicultural city that inspires travel and evokes the spirit of Cruise is also the perfect setting for the show that will be held on Tuesday   13th May 2014 in the presence of Karl Lagerfeld. Ever since I heard the news and I've been wondering where would it be held, it would be a major disappointment if it's going to be held at a Mall, like Dubai Mall, that would be very stereotypical. Let's play the ...

The Window Display of Harvey Nichols London

First of all, my apologies for the radio silence, but if you've been following me on instagram , you'd probably know that I was in London for a quick getaway, and as a result I didn't have the time to blog. Lately I've been micro-blogging through my  instagram  more than I do blog. I guess it's the easy way to get the message across sometimes. Plus I've decided to be more selective on what to blog about, especially that the blogging scene and social media in Kuwait have become completely oversaturated in my humble opinion.  Anyhow, back to blogging. And I'm excited to kick-start it with a post about Harvey Nichols London's window display. The BEST window display in London. Period.  Themed as Fashion School, the window display paid homage to back-to-school days but with a humorous stylish twist, providing window shoppers with an education on the must-have pieces for spring/summer 2014. Each window reveals a different classroom scene and the...

Endless Love for Shoes

Yes, I'm a Shoe-aholic. No I don't need help. My addiction gets worse season after season, but I can't help it and god knows it can't be cured. How would it be possibly when I'm constantly surrounded by beautiful beeeeauuutiful shoes at AlOthman boutique. And now the resort collections are hitting the shop floor, so making a decision is even harder. I tried on the first Alexander Wang truffle beige leather and suede 'Malgosia' sandals featuring an open toe, and a front lace up detail, as shown in the first photo, and they fit perfectly. So I purchased them, my first heels for the new season. Then I browsed the rest of the resort selection, the Jason Wu heels are to-die-for as shown in the two photos below.  Other options that I'm considering, the Isabel Marant black satin sandals with a cute knotted bow on the side, and two pairs by Aquazurra . What shoes are you getting/eyeing for this season?

Celine Forever

I have so much respect to Ms. Philo, season after season she knows how to captivate our love to its parctical yet so chic designs. I went to check out  Celine's resort collection at the brand's boutique in the Grand Avenues, and let me tell you, it is just perfect in all senses, the yummy pastel colors, the merge of different textures, the practicality of most of its bags, the gorgeousness of its jewelry (my favorite out of all the bunch), and the return of the ever-so-comfy Birkenstocks, now in patent leather. It's like the perfect song on a constant rewind.
