Exclusive: Watch Wonderland Online

Remember my previous post on Kuwaiti Director Dana Al Mojil , winning the Best Director award at the Fifth Gulf Film Festival in Dubai for her movie Wonderland: A True Story? Well now you can watch the entire movie online. Wonderland is an adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s “Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass” that is set in Kuwait. it highlights the similarities between the social and political situation in modern Kuwait and Wonderland. The film starts when Alice doesn’t understand why does the Ace “in playing cards” equals 11 when it says one . And that becomes her mission that drives her through all the hierarchy of changing in Kuwait. On her way, for better or worse, she meets the Cheshire cat , the Mad hatter, Mosa’ed and Mes’ed " tweddlee Dee and tweddlee Dum ", the Caterpillar, the Joker and the Queen, which will shape the outcome of her mission.

Ashi Studio Ready-to-Wear and Couture A/W 2013 Collection

I always get excited when the pictures of Ashi Studio's new collections start rolling in. Known for his dramatic use of classic materials such as lace and tulle, Beirut-based Saudi designer Mohammed Ashi is a genius when it comes to creating luxurious pieces to wow guests in parties and weddings. His Ready-to-Wear and Couture A/W 2013 collection, which is currently viewable on his website, is no exception. Click after click, I ooh-ed and ahh-ed at what came next, especially at the couture section, every piece looked dreamy and exceptional.   You can view his previous work on my blog here , here , and here .

Yoga Center in Kuwait

Last week I was invited by the lovely people behind Yoga Center , located at the basement of Burj Jassim in Kuwait City, to try out one of their classes and get a quick tour of their newly opened center. I can't say that I'm a yoga expert as I have only tried it out several times. I did enjoy it, but it was the time factor (or the lack of time management) that did not allow me to be more dedicated to it. And since I was intrigued to find out what warm yoga is all about, I decided to give it a go. And boy, what an experience it was! Actually it got me hooked and now I'm making more room for yoga in my life.  I came in 15 minutes before the class started to get a quick tour of the place. The moment I stepped-in   I instantly felt the tranquility and peacefulness of the ambiance. Everything looked clean, inviting, and easy to the eye. And it smelled so good, as if you were in a spa! The shower booths were spotless and modern, the locke...

Sicilian Sunnies

This summer, the ad campaigns of Dolce and Gabbana , featured these beautiful sunglasses decorated with ceramic flowers at the corners. I thought to myself, we won't be seeing those in K-town! But to my surprise, I found them right there starting back at me at Eye Boutique , which is located at the Avenues and 360 Mall. Needless to say that I instantly fell in love.  The sunglasses came in three styles. Each pair of sunglasses has exquisite multi-coloured roses, apparently the favorite flower of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, adorning each frame and temple. Each petal has been molded and applied by hand with such exquisite craftsmanship.  I'm still contemplating on which one to get. In any case, these will surely be a pair of shades you won’t go unnoticed in this summer!

Jeddah-based fashion accessories brand  Fyunka ,  created by Alaa Balkhy, unveiled her new summer collection of PVC and canvas bags. I think they add a certain charm and effortless cool yet quirky style to caftans and off-duty looks. Featured here, exclusively to Confashions from Kuwait, are  Fyunka 's  beautifully shot summer campaign.
