Symphony's Display Style

As I mentioned in my previous post, the official launch party of Symphony Boutique featured the unveiling of the Tinkah Studio art installation titled Symphony No.7: The Arrival of Her Garments, which is produced by local Emirati ladies. The window display featured hanging ropes, suspended books and sketches of the Symphony designers runway looks. The installation also seeped into the store, with The Tinkah Studio replacing the store furnishing with specially made pillow covers and carpets. The Tinkah Studio translated Symphony’s AW10 theme of “Abra...Cadabra!” into travel, owing to the fact that the abra is a boat which is steeped in the Middle East’s history and culture and has long been used as a method of transport. The Dubai Creek, which is where the abra’s are docked, was the economic hub of Dubai before oil was discovered. The Tinkah Studio’s creation, entitled Symphony No.7: The Arrival of Her Garments, explored how these beautiful garments arrive in Dubai and the magic of how an idea is translated into a garment and then shipped far and wide for women to enjoy and procure.

It was really nice, I think not all of their A/W 2010 collections were on display though but I'm assuming in a couple of weeks time, the stock will be packed with all things which we want to have in our closets!

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.
