May the Best One Win

I am excited to announce that HP and HellwaFashion has handpick 4 of the top regional fashion bloggers (ahem), namely yours truly, Butterhotshoes, myfashiondiary, and Hautecouturista, to join a competition designing a laptop cover/sleeve for the HP ENVY. Of course only one design will be chosen and that’s where you my lovely, sweet, and caring readers come in (Yes this is my attempt to lure you into voting for me!) No seriously, all you have to do is click HERE and vote for your favorite design. Simply comment with the blogger’s name in the comment field at the end of the page. HP and HellwaFashion will randomly pick one lucky voter to win an HP wireless mouse.

Here’s a description of my design:
The concept of the laptop case is to get two different looks for the price of one. This way it will appeal to a wider audience and can be used for males and females. The first laptop case has a very minimal and practical design of soft grey leather with a soft black leather patch. There is one long strap on one side of the laptop case and two holes. This is used to close tie the case in a knot the way runway models tie the belt around their waist recently. And on each corner there are 4 grey hidden clip-ons. These will be used to attach the white leather spread with cut-out-like-a-lace design and uneven curved edges to give you that 2nd look. You will also notice the design of the inside case where it has a zipped pouch for the laptop and 3 slots for business cards and a notepad. The lace leather spread shown in the first photo clips onto the main laptop cover. On the lace leather spread there are 6 iconic wardrobe staples that are barely shown (they're supposed to blend in with the laser-cut lace/leather) They will be visible only if you stare hard into the leather spread. Of course the reason for the cutout is that obviously to show the background color.

So as you can see, I'm obviously not a “designer”, but know how to spend all my savings on “designer” stuff. Here’s a look at my so-called design and please show me the love and vote.

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.

Magical Mode

As anyone who regularly reads Confashions may know, there are some designers I’ve been obsessed with for quite some time: one is the genius Erdem , the other is Nicholas Kirkwood , and Pierre Hardy . And because their designs are somehow easily accessible online and offline, I had the pleasure of featuring some of their creations and showing them the love they deserve. That said, there is one designer I’ve been particularly smitten with for quite some time. He has always been on the top of my favorite designers list ever since I was introduced to his designs by my fabulous fellow fashionisto Adnan Z Manjal   a couple of years back : Saudi designer Mohammed Ashi . I always wished I featured him more. I couldn’t because his pieces are very exclusive and as far as I know not stocked anywhere here. This clearly isn't just another post on my obvious love for Mohammed Ashi’s designs or the quality of his clothes as I have done that previously. Ashi simply deserves his very own epic p...

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?
