Francesco BIASIA at Al Thurraya Complex

Al Ostoura Group has now a new addition to their collection of brand accessories. Newly soft-opened Francesco BIASIA boutique features a selection of Italian handbags and leather accessories. It’s too soon for me to make any critical judgments here as I haven't seen the entire collection yet. If you have already been to the boutique, I'd like to know what you think of the collection.

Francesco BIASIA boutique is located at Al Thurraya Complex.

ths brand is dreadful!
They have been making some of the ugliest bags for as long as i know them. Very often inspired (to put it in a nice way) by other designers. And if you are lucky, you can find a Mulberry, Prada mixed in with great Balenciaga zippers and tassels... ALL IN ONE BAG!!!
Now how great is that?? :)

Francesco Biasia have designed many excellent, unique and attractive bags. So far I have bought 5 different styles. What I like about their bags is that it is possible to find something a little different and individual with interesting details and beautiful colours and finishes to the leathers.

I don't agree that they are a mix of brands such as Prada or Mulberry etc all in the one bag at all. In fact I find that some of the high designer brands can sometimes be rather boring and repetitive. I suspect that quite a number of people like them simply because they visibly display the brand rather than the style itself.

So please don't feel threatened by Francesco Biasia. Be adventurous, reject the same old, same old comservative and predictable styles and give them a try!

Magical Mode

As anyone who regularly reads Confashions may know, there are some designers I’ve been obsessed with for quite some time: one is the genius Erdem , the other is Nicholas Kirkwood , and Pierre Hardy . And because their designs are somehow easily accessible online and offline, I had the pleasure of featuring some of their creations and showing them the love they deserve. That said, there is one designer I’ve been particularly smitten with for quite some time. He has always been on the top of my favorite designers list ever since I was introduced to his designs by my fabulous fellow fashionisto Adnan Z Manjal   a couple of years back : Saudi designer Mohammed Ashi . I always wished I featured him more. I couldn’t because his pieces are very exclusive and as far as I know not stocked anywhere here. This clearly isn't just another post on my obvious love for Mohammed Ashi’s designs or the quality of his clothes as I have done that previously. Ashi simply deserves his very own epic p...

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.
