One of the names that caught my eyes during Paris’s autumn/winter 2010 Haute Couture collection was designer
Bouchra Jarrar. I’m not sure but I think I read somewhere that she’s of Moroccan descent.
Bouchra has worked with the most significant names of our time such as Nicolas Ghesquiere of Balenciaga and also as a fashion director of Christian Lacroix’s studio.
I find her designs strongly emphasize on two elements loved by fashion editors everywhere lately: simplicity and elegance. I personally loved the chosen color palette of white and navy, and those sharply cut silhouettes with a hint of metallic are just marvelous. I personally didn’t feel that
Bouchra Jarrar’s collection had a couture factor but it’s definitely a collection that would make any modern-day Grace Kelly proud.
