Say it with Paper

There’s something about receiving a personal hand-written note in this high-tech age and time that makes any occasion memorable. And by far it’s more personal than being tagged on an e-greeting image on facebook or receiving a mass e-mail/BBM/SMS/MMS with two impersonal liners. It’s just not the same.

So since we have many occasions to celebrate: birthdays, weddings, friendships, Eid, Christmas.. etc, I decided to showcase a new local business: Paper-Design.

Paper-Design is the brainchild of artistic Kuwaiti entrepreneur Fudha Al-Ateeqi who started designing corporate identities and wedding invitations as a freelancer. Her passion for design has blossomed into her dream business.“As a Graphic Design Major and a notebook and card collector, Paper-Design was always well rested in the back of my head. An outlet for my love of paper and design”, expressed Al-Ateeqi.

Her eye for detail, perfection, and distinctive taste are clearly visible through her online boutique’s hand-picked selection of greeting cards & notepads. However, what captivated me more is Paper-Design’s own creation of extremely elegant cards with Arabic quotes.

Take a moment to browse Paper-Design’s invitations and paper stationery and show your true love and appreciation to family and friends.

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.

Marie Claire Kuwait

Did you know that Marie Claire, an international women's magazine, has been launched in Kuwait and their second issue is already in newsstands? Marie Clair - Kuwait is in Arabic of course. The magazine offers an editorial mix of journalism with glamour, fashion and beauty coverage, and feature stories of lifestyle and serious women related issues. All by an Arabic editorial team. Have you read it? If yes, what do you think of it?

Sephora Opening Soon At The Avenues II

Beauty Junkies rejoice! The famous retailer of perfumes and cosmetics and the leading beauty chain in Europe and US, Sephora , will be opening soon at The Avenues Phase II. Personally, I like Sephora not only because of its tempting cosmetic selection, but mainly because I don't feel pressured by sales associates to buy stuff that I don't really need. I can actually touch and try the products without having the sales associate stalking me around and giving me some unnecessary comments about my skin/make-up. I think Sephora will make it big here if it sells its high-end cosmetics which are unavailable at other beauty stores/pharmacies in Kuwait. Does anyone have any product recommendations or favorites?
