Remember last March when I posted about Marni's project which aims to give less fortunate children a brighter future through producing a line of 240 cotton shopping bags with paintings from children living in Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala, Tibet, and India? The bags were sold out at Marni Boutique's in Villa Moda. But now I found another batch, not sure if they are from the same project (neither the sales assistant), but from the looks of the bags and the drawings on them I'm assuming they are. They look cute..
I can't remember if I shared my views about Chanel's Dubai Cruise 2015 Collection on my blog or not, but I thought I'd share with you some photos of the pieces on display now at Chanel Boutique in Kuwait, Prestige in the Avenues and Salhiya Complex. I wasn't too crazy about the clothes. However, I did like some of the bags which had pompoms and tassels on them, as well as the gigantic pearl clutch. I also loved the Moroccan-inspired pointy flats and the silver jewelry adorned with coins and crescents. Of course the shoes were sold out in my size and I wasn't so crazy about the patterned ones. I LOVED the flap bag with Pom Poms, but it was above my budget. Overall the collection felt more Moroccan than Dubai-an. I wish if they have incorporate more of the our gulf region's culture into the designs.
