Event: Ricardas Blazukas 'Geometry of Colour' Exhibition at Almakan

I have recently paid a visit to Ricardas Blazukas 'Geometry of Colour' exhibition at Almakan in Kuwait City. Blazukas is a published artist amongst UK design magazines. His latest work is displayed and sold on Saatchi Art online platform, where he received attention from Saatchi Art curators and was consecutively selected as part of their featured collections. He has been in Kuwait for only 9 months and has managed to line up his first ever solo exhibition.

According to Saatchi Art online platform, Ricardas Blazukas is an independent artist and professional architect, who was born and raised in post-soviet Lithuania, currently based between Kuwait and London. Ricardas’ work is highly influenced by architectural - geometrical and sculptural qualities combined with urban influences / graffiti, typography and colour.

My favorite of his work has to be the Pyramid sculptures, as shown in the featured photos. There is something captivating in the design that make you want to look at its core and break it down into a million pieces visually of course.

His exhibition is till going on at Almakan located in Kuwait City, opposite to Fabrics Market.

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in Miu Miu Boutiques throughout our region.

Magical Mode

As anyone who regularly reads Confashions may know, there are some designers I’ve been obsessed with for quite some time: one is the genius Erdem , the other is Nicholas Kirkwood , and Pierre Hardy . And because their designs are somehow easily accessible online and offline, I had the pleasure of featuring some of their creations and showing them the love they deserve. That said, there is one designer I’ve been particularly smitten with for quite some time. He has always been on the top of my favorite designers list ever since I was introduced to his designs by my fabulous fellow fashionisto Adnan Z Manjal a couple of years back : Saudi designer Mohammed Ashi . I always wished I featured him more. I couldn’t because his pieces are very exclusive and as far as I know not stocked anywhere here. Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit. After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the Altuzarra sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away. Which pair would you go for?
