While in Dubai...

This is my last post on Dubai, thank you for bearing with me, So I'll sharing some random thoughts here and there starting with my current obsession Fendi's Silvana. The color-combo of this crocodile and leather version is TDF!

Although I'm not a fan of cup cakes, I couldn't possibly say no to having a bite of the well presented cup cakes of Magnolia Bakery located at Dubai's Bloomingdales. I did try them before when I was in New York two years ago and thought they were very mediocre and over hyped. So I wanted to give them another chance. The verdict? I'd give the red velvet cup cake a 3.5 out of 5. Not bad but still not a fan.  Maybe I should have tried the cakes instead just like Ansam did.

I was tempted to buy these cook books though.. but I knew they'll only end up decorating my shelves... Just like ottolenghi's!

OMG! The Accessories at  Boutique 1 were AHHHMAAAZING and truly unique. Check out some of my favorite pieces starting with Philip Lim's necklace shown in the above photo...

Looked what I've found at Boutique 1! The ottolenghi cook book!
We went out for dinner at Zuma and La Petite Maison restaurants in DIFC. I strongly recommend the two places for the very hip ambiance. However, because I had very high expectations, I was slightly disappointed with the main courses. BUT, the desserts at both places were HEAVENLY! Which made up for the disappointments.  And the staff at La Petite Maison were extremely friendly and attentive. I liked that.

And that's all. Salam!

Cupcakes are crap no matter where you have them. What you should have had at Magnolia is their chocolate swirl cheesecake! Now thats good food.

You can shop boutique 1 online on www.boutique1.com. It's located in Dubai at Emariates Mall and also Jumaira the Walk.

In Kuwait you can always count on Al Othman boutique located in Mariam Complex in Salmiya. They also have an outlet online site on www.alothmanoutlet.com.

Good luck ;)

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.

Magical Mode

As anyone who regularly reads Confashions may know, there are some designers I’ve been obsessed with for quite some time: one is the genius Erdem , the other is Nicholas Kirkwood , and Pierre Hardy . And because their designs are somehow easily accessible online and offline, I had the pleasure of featuring some of their creations and showing them the love they deserve. That said, there is one designer I’ve been particularly smitten with for quite some time. He has always been on the top of my favorite designers list ever since I was introduced to his designs by my fabulous fellow fashionisto Adnan Z Manjal   a couple of years back : Saudi designer Mohammed Ashi . I always wished I featured him more. I couldn’t because his pieces are very exclusive and as far as I know not stocked anywhere here. This clearly isn't just another post on my obvious love for Mohammed Ashi’s designs or the quality of his clothes as I have done that previously. Ashi simply deserves his very own epic p...

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?
