Art on the Underground

Hot on the heels of being awarded Accessory Designer of the Year at the Elle Style Awards earlier this year, Rupert Sanderson is now proud to be involved in Elle Magazine & London
Underground’s
exciting initiative Art on the Underground which has in past years, already seen acclaimed artists such as Man Ray working on innovative poster designs for the Tube network.

Since 2000, Art on the Underground has been working with artists to produce and present new artworks to display. This year, to celebrate 25 years of London Fashion Week, Elle Magazine has got involved with the initiative and asked 25 influential people in the world of design and art to create a poster inspired by London, to be displayed in and around the Tube network in London.

Sanderson’s poster comprises of his Inferno boots – the seamless platform ankle boot from his current Autumn/Winter collection, fashioned into the form of one of London’s most iconic landmarks: The London Eye.

What a creative idea! I wish they'd have Kuwaiti artists do similar things to be put on CityBus and KPTC and even our public buildings. That would do a lot to beautify the country.

I agree, BUT, there has to be a Panel of Judges to appraise their artwork before it gets publicly displayed ;)
