Event: Noon

You are cordially invited to the Launch of noon. Enjoy the pleasures of handloom silks, soft cottons, and colorful jewelry by noon, while appreciating the captivating and compelling artworks of Alfred Tarazi and The Feel Collective. The event will be held at Dar Al Funoon on Wednesday Sept. 2, 2009 from 8pm-12am. Ongoing all day display from Sept. 3 to Sept. 5. Dar Al Funoon is located at Behbehani Compound, House No. 28, Al Watiah, Kuwait City.

What's marvellous about noon is that it's not just another fashion brand, it is totally dedicated to the revival of handicraft with a modern twist. The socially-conscious brand is anti-mass production and anti-exploitation. They only work with handicraft workers in factories, which they have personally visited, where workers are treated with dignity and respect.

Allow me to introduce the masterminds behind noon: Nur Kaoukji, Creative Director and Managing Partner of noon, is a Lebanese fashion design student living in London. She is currently entering her final year at the London College of Fashion, which she joined after the completion of a foundation degree at Central Saint Martins. And Siham Nuseibeh is the Managing Partner of noon, earned a BA in Political Journalism from Boston University and an Msc in Development Studies from the London School of Economics. She is currently the executive editor of en.v magazine in Kuwait.
